sheer class ! i put on another site about a dream of mine , that they broke up in 1970 but Lennon wasnt murdered in 1980, macca and him repaired their friendship and the fab 4 played unannounced as the final act at Live aid, god how i would have loved to see that !, love them . long live the legacy of the Beatles.
I adore this song, but... he just made it too difficult for live singing- with all that depth and echoing voice on the track.... Well, Paul's great anyway :]
Had an experience with this song: I was back in the Army, low crawling with tracers flying over me and artillary fire everywhere, lighting up the skies. Suddenly Gargoyle looking women with long fingernails and lashing long teeth came out screaming with their dark hair flying. I saw a house of wax melting down, exposing live wax figures coming to look for brains to eat. Then I woke up to hear this song playing. No wonder.
I've been listening to Paul for more then 40 years and this is for sure one of the best things he's done.

BEST SONG HE HAS WRITTEN IN AT LEAST 14 YEARS. Maybe his most haunting ever? Anyone remember PRETTY LITTLE HEAD?

Thunder drowns the trumpets blast
Poets scatter through the night
But they can only dream of flight
Away from their confusion

The lead guitar solos are very Jimmy McCulloch influenced.
