In many cases, the police will see abuse including holes punched in walls, a newborn present and do NOTHING -enabling abusers later custody. Drew Peterson (cop) comes to mind. Police accused of protecting their own; Eighteen 911 calls and Peterson was never arrested; his wife now dead was. 3 of his ex wives died suspiciously.
