He's pulling him into guard, a controlling position. Honestly, I don't know why people have to make negative comments when they don't know what they are talking about. These guys are showing a high level of technical skill.
i was the unlucky guy to be floored with a right hook, then finished with an arm bar! I just want unbeliever's to know that i went on to win 2 professional full contact kickboxing world titles and never came across as good a fighter as mr. craig oxley! respect to you guys and your sport and hope you are all well.stuart mcowan.
When i first come across this i thought another crap sparring vid. Well I was wrong very nice, with kickboxing as stylish as savate. This is going on to favorite.
Did you see that triangle set up. Amazing!!! You would never know he told Prof. Wally Jay the day before at the weigh ins he was going to finish with that move. Simply amazing!!
one of the competitors in this clip had stupid fast kicks.
the fighter at 4:21 had really good kicks. too bad he doesn't move his head well. I think that if this competition got as much coverage as the ufc and tapout, it would have a HUGE FOLLOWING.
It already does have a huge following. And I think the only reason it hasnt had more coverage is because there is not one single entity for it, its all different clubs and divisions. Plus those things like ufc didnt exist b4 they were on tv, this did, its more for competing than money
those fights are gjj, or ghey jujitsu. i agree, this is a lot more exciting, even more exciting than UFC or pride where they spend more time grappling.
This question is for anyone who knows but I was wondering if this sport jujitsu is practiced in japan? Every time I see sport jujitsu its always western players instead of japnese.

Rules are primarily but can vary 2-3min rnd Full Contact/Mod Contact Punches/kicks armbars, anklelocks, kneebars, chokes, throws, groundfightinsweeps, throws.leg kicks Limited strikes on ground but we do have them.judged by 3 and 1 ctr ref.
This was the first tournament format that called Sport Jujitsu (1 year before the first UFC). Since its conception there are literally 100's of sport jujitsu off-shoots.But none as good as the original, it is absolutely fair for all martial artist regardless of style!
theres sport jui jitsu at pretty much every martial arts tournament, atleast here in vancouver canada there is. I would like to try this before eventually making the transition from BJJ to MMA. No punches on the ground right?
Wow,what happen to this sport? Its far more exciting than any other MMA event. Real martial artist, real technique, not just a bunch of toughman competitors trying to use martial art techniques.
You obviously don't know what you are talking about then. This is sport jujitsu, not BJJ.

that full contact is very similar to the combat sambo, but whit more kicks. the sambo fighters depend more on punches.

1:30 to 1:40 fight clip, was great. The guy doing the arm bar, was smart and fast enough to get that lock in such a short time.
