@jemmaledger both MOS burger and McDs have "ebi" (shrimp) burgers here in Japan, and they have the normal "fish filet" type sandwich. I'm sure in some locally owned places you can get wacky fish type burgers, but I don't eat fish so I've never tried any.
@floridian32141 well, you get used to the "huge amounts" pretty quickly. They basically don't use a decimal point like we do in America, so you can think of it as 720 pennies, or $7.20, but with the current exchange rate, 720 yen is close to $9 USD
I lived in Miami for six months. Not sure how a taco burger is...Miami-ish. Lol. I agree with Cornelioushuxtable below. I think more beach like. ♫ Thanks for the post. (^_^)
interesting, when I think of Miami I think of tropical fruit like mango, guava, fried plantains, black beans, citrus, spicy hot sauce, and maybe some fried chiccharon pork skin :-q
I'm with psyjax, nothing Miami or Latin about that burger. A "frita" would be closer to a local burger. I know they serve them with string fries under the bun, maybe some mojo sauce over the tomato and lettuce. Yuca fries on the side, and a cold beer (getting hungry).
I live in Orlando, FL and from my opinion that does not have anything related to Miami in it. What was on the Idaho burger? I guess I will look that up. Good quick vlog. =)
I am from Miami, and the only thing that would make that a true Miami burger is if it had a fried plantain on it. That would make it sweet and savory at the same time, which would be amazing. Tortilla chips are more of a Mexican snack if anything.
I went to a Mickie-D's for the first time in about a year on Saturday. It's still really good, but not something I would want to eat more than once a month at most...Too bad we don't get them fancy burgers where I live.
Because of global selling point of the hamburger is "the American culture", I would say for McDonald Jaman has starting point recurrence.May be laugh at all if put this on sale in America.
Haha that's the McMexican burger. LOL nothing like Miami. I should know, I live here! XD But I give the Japanese kudos for naming it after my city. :D
I've been a bit hesitant to try the Miami Burger, but after seeing this Jason I'll definitely give it a try. Nice job on the review with hired JET talent!
I had one last week! It was rather tasty! I did not at all like the Idaho burger! It was no good! It was salsa on the bottom. I thought the same thing as Shannon. I have no idea how Miami it was! We thought maybe it was more Arizona or California with the more mexican culture! ^_^
I LOVE every type of culinary mishmash that people (corporations) come up with.
The more "wrong", the better they taste! Stop being so CC (culturally correct) all the friggin' time I say! On the related topic, I believe if someone had the balls to mass-produce fresh Natto (納豆) Burgers in Japan, they are going to be rich and famous!
BTW, I only go to Five Guys to get a burger nowadays...
McDonald's? Tasty? That's a contradiction in terms.
Unless every single McDonald's "restaurant" in Germany that I've been to sells you "tasty" cardboard buns and grilled grease instead of the real deal.
@42317 Japanese mcdonalds definitely take more care with their food, its seen more as a fast food restaurant, defo less greasy from my experience, however if you go to mcdonalds here in the UK its seen as very low class and the most unhealthy food you could eat
Are you implying that, apart from maybe 3rd world countries, there are places that do NOT consider McDonald's in particular and fastfood in general "the most unhealthy food you could eat"?
@42317 I'm just going by what i know, i think uk and japanese mcdonalds are on 2 different ends of the spectrum in terms of how they are viewed, other countries might consider something worse, but im just saying, in the UK mcdonalds is terrible in terms of health and even taste, japan seem to promote a better image for it and it does seem slightly better.
That thing is incredibly yummy. Nachos and beef chile on a cheapo burger. Kind of sad I didn't have a good video camera with me when I ate mine a few hours ago. Nothing like that in the States.
I'm so jealous. McDonald's isn't like a great option, but when you have to eat there it's nice to have a variety of nice tasting burgers. I live in the US and think we have the least variety for McDonald's. Every time I go to Canada, I always try to get something at McDonald's because they have new stuff. They had subs one time, muffins, and better buns and meat, and cool snack wraps. My favorite thing I've gotten at a Canadian McDonalds was a Mediterranean Chicken sandwich with feta cheese :)
@ElevenColors I am from Miami, and the only thing that would make that a true Miami burger is if it had a fried plantain on it. That would make it sweet and savory at the same time, which would be amazing. Tortilla chips are more of a Mexican snack if anything.
@myargonauts ahh, the Izumo YoumeTown?? Dude, we stayed for a few days during obon last year at my wife's cousin's house just a minute walk from it. We went shopping there a few times.
Sounds like a Mexican Burger - you got the nachos the cheese the chili :L Haha

Maybe they should have gone with something closer to fried plantains and thin slices of chorizo on Cuban bread for the Miami burger.
Oh, looks like a Cuban hamburger already exists. It's called a Frita. I'll have to try one next time I'm there.
Tylatz 1 year ago
That is more like what a Texas burger should be. The Miami should maybe have pineapple and black beans.
