  • Yes, I do think we will continue to evolve as time passes, and we're already showing evidence of that happening. Evolution does not mean life forms get better, it means they change. As we advance technology, our lives become easier and we naturally have different requirements for survival. Our teeth are weaker because we don't really need them to survive any more, they can even be replaced. Our immune systems don't need to be as effective because we have vaccines etc.

  • @KevinLounsberry This means humans with weaker teeth and weaker immune systems, etc, are able to survive and reproduce. We are taller though, and that's likely because tall people are just generally considered more attractive and there for more likely to mate. We will likely continue in this direction until we are 100% reliant on technology to survive if we aren't wiped out before then. But life expectancy has tripled, so better or worse? its open to opinion.

  • sorry.. I meant 'intelligent-design of ones own descendants' of course. But many people would be extremely worried about that idea ;)

  • I think man could keep evolving naturally - but an interesting thing about man that he is smart enough to influence his own evolution through genetic engineering of the germ line. Not saying that's good or bad - just that it would no longer be the same sort of evolution... I guess it becomes a sort of intelligent-design of ones own ancesters.

  • cool idea
