he has long hair bc the actual superman in this set is the black costume superman and the one you bought is the original costume variant with the same head sculpt. and as far as build a figures go a few of them are really cool and not necessarily the biggest out of the set take for example my favorite metamorpho he is the best build a figure and yet he is the smallest out of the entire set.

To me, Superman's hair seems to point out that this figure was based on the post "Death and Rebirth of Superman" Superman, when for a time he used that long hair. As always a nice review Mike!

i agree with this...superman went through a "coma" like time after he "died" and obviously his hair grew during that time..when he came out..the rebirth of superman started and he had this long hair. I didn't like it at all. But this figure seems more period specific...which is kinda cool
