I can relate to this. :( My mom had me 15 weeks premature, only at 24.5 weeks gestation. She couldn't hold me at birth and I was kept n the NICU for 6 months.
@TwilightSylvestris I can too. my amazing boyfriend who is the most polite person i've ever met was a pound and a half when he was born and his rents waited four months to bring him home from the NICU. they didn't even name him. god bless you and him and all other preemies <3
Jared is in my class at school! We are both juniors now in High School. He is 16 years old and is perfectly normal, not a single thing wrong with him! Great job Akron Childrens Hospital for taking care of him!
Every time babies are delivered who knows what they'll do. Maybe she'll be leader of her school band maybe he'll be captain of his school baseball team.
This episode segment is so cute. Jared has just big cute eyes and it's nic to see his parents giving him his bath. It's also nice to see him get to go home 2 days for christmas and that one shot of him in that cute baseball outfit.
@Cyclops236 lol the issue is, sometimes there isn't time to do an epidural, as for drugs to make them relaxed some mothers refuse them because they do make you extremely groggy, and more or less looped out, and it's very important for the mother to really see and feel and experience the child being brought into the world, don't get me wrong, if i ever have my own i'll be so drugged up i wont be able to see straight, if i cant get an epi, but its all a matter of what the mother wants.
@Cyclops236 Nah, I'd rather be awake for it. I was awake for my son's birth but still don't remember every detail as I would like! I got a couple of IV drugs (Stadol was one of them) during the labor and then a one-time shot in the back that was supposed to last like 6 hours but it only lasted 4, so that when it came time to push and I was fully dilated, it had worn off! As painful as it was, I have to say the labor was worse than the pushing. I'm VERY glad I was awake for the birth.
my sisters baby diana was delivered at 25 weeks and 4 days and weighed 1 pound 9 ounces and spent 5 months in the nicu cuz she had trouble with her belly
my nephews were born somewhat early, carter had to be in the nicu, the baby beside him, weighed a lb, so teeny, so precious, and he was fighting like hell to live. i still wonder if he made it out
@MusicontheBrain247 I have all the MASH episodes downloaded, and I love Alan Alda's character ( Dr. Bejanmin Franklin Pierce- Hawkeye) loads, and he doesn't sound like him at all :P He does sound alittle like Colonel Henry Blake, though, but only if u really want him to :)
I miss this show, I wish they would make a new one, and get William Shatner back in narrator's job ;D And Mystery Diagnosis too, need WAY more of those shows! I'm an addict!
@Cyclops236 No, I don't get Investigation Discovery, only Norwegian crappy channels...:/ Feel free to upload some ;) I don't think people realize how educational this show was back then, I'm very thankful to Basckit13, Allgood2000 and BeatleMoe for uploading all these clips :) I have seen ER/Trauma-docu's, but they don't show how the "aftermath" goes, like, a few months or years later, to see them fully recovered or at least in progress. :(
I never saw this segment when it was on tv, thanks for posting.Segments I would like to see posted on youtube is where a boy accidentally shot his neighbor Jarrod with a bee bee gun, bath trapped mommy. Please post those rescue 911 segments on youtube.

I wish all deliveries of newborns was done this way., I can't stand the thought of a mom screaming as she pushes.
