  • This is great, never seen such experimentation!

  • @snafitzer ...it is not "experimentation" ....this guy has previous jazz background...but now he plays along the traditional indian music, to best of his ability... that's all, noting extremely unusual...but most of you people are so stuck into boxes made for your by extraterrestrial tormentors that every bit of "straying" surprises you....this video is quite pleasant, by the way...i seek pole shift survival group...

  • @sexypoetry ......"You people" interesting, you say it as if I was cutting the music down... You may want to think a bit before you speak/type. It seems to me YOU are stuck in your narrow reality tunnel, not straying from what you believe.

Also I find his playing quite experimental, and I was surprised but not in a bad way.... did you read my original comment?? "This is great, neve..."

  • @snafitzer I did not say it is bad and i did not say that you said it is bad. It is quite nice, everybody agrees on that.I did not comment on this video but on comments.Huge number of comments is depicting this as "experimental", because the music is generally so stifled by genre compartmentalisation that whatever sticks out of the drawer just a bit, is perceived as "experimental".But this is just the guy with previous background in jazz ,now playing along indian music, to best of his ability.

  • @sexypoetry Okay, thanks for the clarification. I was almost certain that it was directed at me considering the word "you" was used twice in the latter, more negative part :P. But I understand now, and I agree. I think he has great talent, and sounds great!

But I still disagree that it is not an "experimentation" as the act experimenting does not require a never before done procedure, nor does it have to be something amateur or inexperienced. [also not saying you said that]

  • @snafitzer i suppose the confusion has occurred because in english language the word "you" can be singular and plural as well....however i stand by my claim that "experimentation" is overstatement for the act of someone with jazz background simply trying to fit in with slightly different (classical indian) music piece....even if he has never done anything similar before...because in the context of music the word "experimental" means more than just "untested"...i'll paste it from dictionary here:

  • @sexypoetry 1 the experimental stage: exploratory, investigational, trial, test, pilot; speculative, conjectural, hypothetical, tentative, preliminary, untested, untried.

2 experimental music: innovative, innovatory, new, original, radical, avant-garde, cutting-edge, alternative, unorthodox, unconventional; informal way-out.

  • @sexypoetry ....as you can hear the example from this video fits the explanation 1 (which is for experimental stage of just about everything other than art) but does not fits the explanation number 2. which is there to describe truly experimental music....but, let me finish by saying that this video is quite pleasant, i did not disagree with that.
