That crazy lightning is actually a "Ghosting effect". This is an upside-down reflection in the camera lens of a bolt that was actually behind the camera, farther away. Some really nice thunder, though.
Thunder was like the person said b4 about 3 seconds after the bolt, so it was nowhere close. You would have known it just by sound if it was a few feet away, plus your hair probably would have standed on end.
it's a reflection, the mean bolt is actualy much farther away, i guess about 1 kilometer because the sounds comes 3 secs after the strike. So it's nothing to worry about. nice capture though, and that guy must be soaked good in that rain!
