Reviewer Persona & Shadow: Insights from Jungian Psychology

The shadow is not "evil" as some assume. Whether we're under the influence of the persona or the shadow at any given time, we still have free will and must still make decisions. The only difference is the process of making decisions. For example, I'm an INTJ with an ENFP shadow. Whether I'm in INTJ mode or ENFP mode, I'm still aware of myself, still have free will (as in "am not possessed"), and therefore, must willfully choose right or wrong, good or evil either way.

What is the current opinion of Jung's ideas?

His archetypes interest me... but I do not know in what light those things are viewed by academic communities such as medicine, psych, philosophy, or sociology.

Any thoughts?
