  • I don't remember that day, but I remember that week because that week I also wiped out on my bicycle and needed a bunch of stitches in my arm(My Philadelphia Eagles watch embedded in my wrist) so I always associated Macintosh with that accident. :D I was 14 years old. Good times. Happy birthday!

  • same, here. It is great to read thru the biography of Steve Jobs with Youtube at a finger click. It brings things alive!

  • who else came here after reading walter isaacsons book?

  • ESE INTRO MAS FÁCIL NO SE PUEDE

  • Wow, he was like a rock star; so handsome and charismatic. And such a genius. Who knows what he would have come up with if he had lived to be 80? His death was such a great loss.

  • lol I love it when flips out a floppy disk

  • He is truly the one. Thanks Steve

  • As a strong LEADER/CEO, Steve Jobs inspires, motivates, charms, demands, orders his employees to be the BEST that they can BE (maximize his employees’ potential) for the company, as well as for the customers' benefit!

“My job is NOT to be easy on people. My job is to take these great people we have and to push them and make them even BETTER.”

--Steve Jobs on being a CEO

Forbes Magazine CEO of the Decade

  • I just bought a new imac and its really great to see how far apple has come in less then 30 years

  • Honestly, I saw this because I just read about this in Steve's Biography a few minutes ago. And yes, that moment was amazing.

  • Okay, I'm a guy... but I can admit it... I cried.

  • Man when ever I see the line "This is bulshit." in the book I laugh! The best and the only biography I am currently reading right now!

  • super tuto !

  • who else heard an high frequensy sound?

  • May i ask you silly question? If this has only one floppy drive, which you use to load OS, how can you get data from it?

  • @TheFaveteLinguis It may be hard to believe, but at that point in time, the OS was loaded completely into RAM (memory). You would put in the data disk when it was needed and swap it out with the OS or application disk if needed.

"System Software ran off one floppy, and a second external drive (if you were lucky) held your program or data files - swapping floppies was a way of life for Mac pioneers." - The Vintage Mac Museum

  • @TheFaveteLinguis my dad's first computer only had 8mb of RAM.

  • @HongKongBoyz100 I have news for you, my first computer in 1980 only had 4kb of RAM. 1 Mb for a home computer was an unimaginable concept at the time.

  • @TheFaveteLinguis The OS was loaded into RAM from the OS disk. Once the OS was up in RAM the OS disk could be removed and a data disk inserted.

  • i have to watch this again as I've just got to this part in the book, so great!!!

  • @robloxlover55

Compare Lion or even OSX with Win 7.

There are very few ways in which Windows is outright better.

  • @ls600h1 Lion *is* OS X 10.7. Take it from a guy that runs a site on the topic.

  • Yep, my bad, I think I meant to type in OS X 10.6.... (Snow Leopard)

I know that Lion is 10.7... I have 2 macs...

  • Unlike human evolution, the computers have evolved much and much more in a short period of time, because of people like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and the intensity of competition. The demo now looks like seeing a mere screen saver, but that was an astonishment in 1984! Oh the world is moving very fast........ Rest in Peace Mr Steve Jobs

  • Look up the computer demo Douglas Engelbart did in 1968. The live demonstration in 1968 featured the introduction of the computer mouse, video conferencing, teleconferencing, hypertext, word processing, hypermedia, object addressing and dynamic file linking!

However Steve Jobs was a genius and a legend.

  • @nholt That's nice, but was Mr. Engelbart selling it to the masses?

  • true legend

  • The one good thing about Steve dying so young is he'll have the chance to make sure St. Peter sends Sculley straight to Hell.

  • I bought the first round of 512s. I owned one of those "bags" Steve pulls Mac out of. If you aren't Steve's age or older it would be hard to imagine how stunning this demo was. God bless him. He's one of a kind.

Please remember he was forever criticized by many people as a control freak and greedy bastard. Some saw a driven genius others the inspired leader. These all often go together. Let us stay free to let life happen in all it's pain, pleasure and glory.

  • さようならスティーブ

  • There are many visionaries, but few have worthwhile ones. There are millions of visions, but few are realized and enjoyed by many. Rest in peace, Steve Jobs. You have cultivated d artist within millions of people. You brought to d world d word user-friendly.
