  • nsgevo89 do you carry a scanner while your railfanning

  • Yes I do. I can't understand what they're saying half the time... :)

  • Also, in case you are wondering, the scanner I use is a RadioShack PRO-89. It's made in China, but it's not cheap at all. It's a quality product, and I've never had a problem with it, except for having to change the batteries, but that's pretty much mandatory on every electronic product. :)

  • In addition, I thought I might mention that it's a 2004 model or something. The PRO-89 still works fine, but I really want a new PRO-96. It has a "digital trunking" system, not sure what that means, but it's supposed to have better reception and store more channels. The only thing stopping me from buying it is the price range; it costs $380. My PRO-89 was only $100-150. The PRO-96 can hold 5500 memory channels. Maybe one day I'll get one, but it might be a while.

  • Awesome video man. To bad I missed this train. We arrived after that. Unit coal trains are my favorite.

  • It was a very interesting train to watch. It's a shame you missed it.
