Because of our indifference to the appeals of God, we have not reached one half of those who might be reached. Few have felt a heavy burden for souls. How much more might have been accomplished had the time spent by God's people in faultfinding been spent in encouraging one another, and in active service! How much better for voices to blend in prayer, in holy unison, than to be employed in finding fault! We have no time for faultfinding or criticism.
She talks about the amalgamations that were made, but she never says that there are any humans that are the result of it.
She does talk extensively of the importance of helping the former slaves recover and lead normal lives, and of bringing them to Christ. If she did think they were some sort of amalgamation, she didn't let it change her view that they were fellow children of God!
Oh, and these days amalgamation would be called cross-breeding or Genetic Engineering.
As far as the writings in the vault, yes, there are still a lot of unreleased writings.
There are so many letters and manuscripts that it takes years to go through them and compile them for release. Every year or so it seems they come out with a few thousand more pages.
There are also personal letters that have not been released because the person/family in question would be hurt by their release. Maybe the person repented of a private sin, and there is no good reason to expose it.
Also, those writings can be accessed by researchers, and if they find something that they feel should be released, they can request that it be released.
I have a friend that did quite a bit of research in "the Vault", and found some interesting things that he got released.
Also, it is not up to the "Church". The Estate was left in the care of Trustees that she picked, and they chose replacements, etc.
And we do not worship her any more than we worship Peter or John! (which we don't!)

Ellen G. White was inspired of God, the evidence is plain and overwhelming with the mountain of voluminous writings and her life. As to the dozen or so comments in question, I rest comfortably that the Bible contains even more statements I am ill-equipped to defend or comprehend, as are many other. So I wait patiently for light. In the meantime, I compare everything through the lens of scripture and by the fruits they produce, and this little old lady really holds up as the real thing.

Joseph Smith has drawn people to their idea of Christ. Does that mean it is a good thing? During the 1800's there were some churches that came out of the religious rival that took place in america during that time. All of them have done some good things but it doesn't mean they have correct theology. Mormons would consider Joseph Smith to have the Spirit of Prophecy but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be scrutinized for the words he said.

..I saw a carving on a 900 year old temple in Cambodia. It is an accurate image of a Stegasaurous. It would be impossible for those people to have known what they looked like had they all been killed in the flood. I don't see why Noah could'nt have brought a few with him in the Ark. Post flood Indian artwork also shows dinosaurs living along side men. The dinosaurs have become extinct , but that does'nt mean they were'nt walking around as little as 900 years ago.

After yrs of studying the life and writings of EGW, I have concluded that her critics are no different in their frame of mentality than the atheists r toward the Bible. i too have the original statement. "man AND beast" "man WITH beast" do not mean the same thing regardless of what her critics and even Uriah Smith stated.

And Ellen/James White never corected him. On contrary James recomended this book to SDA in Review and Herald aug 1868 and expressed happynes and even gratitude to God for such work. Were J. White and U. Smith enemies of truth?
In 1868, four years after EGW's amalgamation statements, Uriah Smith wrote a defense of EGW's visions. In that book he did not attempt to deny that EGW meant that men and beasts had mated. He further noted that the results of this unholy union were still present in his day.
He mentioned the wild Bushmen of Africa, some tribes of the Hottentots, and perhaps the Digger Indians of our own country, and etc. He said that these half-breeds should still be called man because they had some of the original Adamic blood in their veins. please read the statement carefully my friend, it does not read "amalgamation of man WITH beast" it reads "amalgamation of man AND beast" the statement describes two kinds of amalgamation, one pertaining to animal species and the other pertaining to mankind.

lazbo4174 , i;ve read her writings also. The are very nice. However, the SDa church has made her work authoritative, meaning on the same level with scripture-you know this is true. I still believe in the sabbath I just don't believe in her authority. Frankly, she has none, she did not even write church doctrine, but church doctrine is measured by her commentary and ideology. It's one big sermon leading directly back to a lie. She is not a prophet and has done nothing prophetic.

The 'rich man and Lazarus' is NOT a parable. It is a description of a real place with real people who lived and then died. There is no "like unto" comparison in this story, but rather it is an actual account of the reality of the english word hell.
The parable of the virgins with lamps is compared to people with religion without oil
The parable of the treasure in a field is compared to a man seeing the truth and giving all that he has for it.
"Abraham's bosom" was not in heaven, so no. In that particular account Lazarus was comforted in Abrahams bosom. It does not say everyone was in Abrahams bosom.

the PARABLE was a rebuke to the pharisees, they wrongly believed that they would go to heaven (Abraham's bosom) simply because they were genetically related to Abraham. the Parable highlited the fact that a poor man with no genetic relationship to Abraham had more chance of Heaven than they (because of their attitude) it also revealed to the listeners that a persons fate is sealed at death, i could go on if you like.
Fascinating. So Jesus was expounding on their belief in a place which does not exist by giving a parable of an after life which does not exist. That would make him a deciever. I suppose that is why Ellen White came up with this interpretation, it fit her personal convictions.

The SDA church does not place her writings on an equal level with Scripture, you are sadly mistaken
Was John the Baptist a prophet? Messiah called him the greatest of all the prophets. Did he write any of the Scripture? Do you not think that his words (not recorded in Scripture) gave guidance, comfort and instruction? Do you not believe that what he said was a continuing and authoritative source of truth? I do not think you understand the gift of prophecy, I may be wrong but i will hasten to add that i believe that you have probably never read EGW's writings for yourself....
your accusations are not new to me, your accusations hold no weight of influence with me and I pray that all will in an unbiased manner read her writings for themselves. I have been blessed by them and KNOW that others WILL be also. Genuine seekers of truth recognise truth when they find it.

Now take a little time to check out what the original Hebrew and Greek words are, if you study the words correctly you will find out that the majority mean GRAVE,you will find out that the word GEHENNA is also used, gehenna was a rubbish tip just outside of Jerusalem where fires continually burnt to destroy the waste

Do your research on the Great Controversy. She did not write it. It was first written by another man and published and he gave her a copy . Her husband rewrote it using the original as a frame work and also others in the church helped write it. Then she supposedly had a "vision" and they published the New Great Controversy under her name. Such a con artist.

The spirit of prophecy is Not Mrs white, it is any1 who has the testimony of Jesus and keeps his commandments, The buck didn't stop at Mrs white and i so dearly wish people would stop saying that she is. It takes away from Christ Jesus, the Holy Spirit the comforter and his true followers. To refute her as an Adventist cannot be done as the whole SDA would fall apart as she is the chief cornerstone of their religion even if they deny that fact. Volumes of books does not a prophet make.

How much more might have been accomplished had the time spent by God's people in faultfinding been spent in encouraging one another, and in active service! How much better for voices to blend in prayer, in holy unison, than to be employed in finding fault! We have no time for faultfinding or criticism.

She talks about the amalgamations that were made, but she never says that there are any humans that are the result of it.
She does talk extensively of the importance of helping the former slaves recover and lead normal lives, and of bringing them to Christ. If she did think they were some sort of amalgamation, she didn't let it change her view that they were fellow children of God!
Oh, and these days amalgamation would be called cross-breeding or Genetic Engineering.

As far as the writings in the vault, yes, there are still a lot of unreleased writings.
There are so many letters and manuscripts that it takes years to go through them and compile them for release. Every year or so it seems they come out with a few thousand more pages.
There are also personal letters that have not been released because the person/family in question would be hurt by their release. Maybe the person repented of a private sin, and there is no good reason to expose it.

Also, those writings can be accessed by researchers, and if they find something that they feel should be released, they can request that it be released.
I have a friend that did quite a bit of research in "the Vault", and found some interesting things that he got released.
Also, it is not up to the "Church". The Estate was left in the care of Trustees that she picked, and they chose replacements, etc.
And we do not worship her any more than we worship Peter or John! (which we don't!)

Ellen G. White was inspired of God, the evidence is plain and overwhelming with the mountain of voluminous writings and her life. As to the dozen or so comments in question, I rest comfortably that the Bible contains even more statements I am ill-equipped to defend or comprehend, as are many other. So I wait patiently for light. In the meantime, I compare everything through the lens of scripture and by the fruits they produce, and this little old lady really holds up as the real thing.

Joseph Smith has drawn people to their idea of Christ. Does that mean it is a good thing? During the 1800's there were some churches that came out of the religious rival that took place in america during that time. All of them have done some good things but it doesn't mean they have correct theology. Mormons would consider Joseph Smith to have the Spirit of Prophecy but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be scrutinized for the words he said.

There are no idiotic comments. Anyone can take something out of context and make it sound foolish, but if read in context, her writings go hand in hand with the Scripture. Her writings were meant to help us understand the Scriptures and to turn us more to the Scriptures.

..I saw a carving on a 900 year old temple in Cambodia. It is an accurate image of a Stegasaurous. It would be impossible for those people to have known what they looked like had they all been killed in the flood. I don't see why Noah could'nt have brought a few with him in the Ark. Post flood Indian artwork also shows dinosaurs living along side men. The dinosaurs have become extinct , but that does'nt mean they were'nt walking around as little as 900 years ago.

Jurassic Park was made but I'm sure all the creators saw were the skeletal remains. Maybe the Cambodians were paleontologists.
The Stegasaurus carving you speak of is still up for debate, but it was about the size of an elephant & liked water. The Coelacanth was a dinosaur fish & is also said to be extinct, so you have to wonder why a fish wouldn't survive a flood.

Don't need an analysis of her work. I've already seen some of them. Frankly, analysis does not prove she is a prophet. Let's cut through the chase, name one thinfg that she prophecied that has happened, something tangible preferrably, and please not the Jesus entering the Holy of Holy's scenario because in my estimation, that's pure biblical theory used to cover-up the 1844 fiasco.

lazbo4174 , i;ve read her writings also. The are very nice. However, the SDa church has made her work authoritative, meaning on the same level with scripture-you know this is true. I still believe in the sabbath I just don't believe in her authority. Frankly, she has none, she did not even write church doctrine, but church doctrine is measured by her commentary and ideology. It's one big sermon leading directly back to a lie. She is not a prophet and has done nothing prophetic.

I believe it depends what you mean prophet. As a teacher I think so, but meaning 100 Percent perfect and holy I would agree with you. I just viewed her as a Prophet Like Luther, Surgen, Tyndale, Huss, ect. I do find it rather lame that people post all the websites out there just to stir up things.

The 'rich man and Lazarus' is NOT a parable. It is a description of a real place with real people who lived and then died. There is no "like unto" comparison in this story, but rather it is an actual account of the reality of the english word hell.
The parable of the virgins with lamps is compared to people with religion without oil
The parable of the treasure in a field is compared to a man seeing the truth and giving all that he has for it.

"Abraham's bosom" was not in heaven, so no. In that particular account Lazarus was comforted in Abrahams bosom. It does not say everyone was in Abrahams bosom.

the PARABLE was a rebuke to the pharisees, they wrongly believed that they would go to heaven (Abraham's bosom) simply because they were genetically related to Abraham. the Parable highlited the fact that a poor man with no genetic relationship to Abraham had more chance of Heaven than they (because of their attitude) it also revealed to the listeners that a persons fate is sealed at death, i could go on if you like.

Fascinating. So Jesus was expounding on their belief in a place which does not exist by giving a parable of an after life which does not exist. That would make him a deciever. I suppose that is why Ellen White came up with this interpretation, it fit her personal convictions.

your misinterpretation of what SDA'S believe is not proof of anything.
And furthermore for every significant movement described in Scripture a prophet of some kind is called to give guidance (well within the boundaries set by the Bible)to those connected with the movement. The gift or spirit of prophecy is an identifying mark of the remnant church described in Rev 12:17 (see also Rev 19:10)
The SDA church does not place her writings on an equal level with Scripture, you are sadly mistaken

Was John the Baptist a prophet? Messiah called him the greatest of all the prophets. Did he write any of the Scripture? Do you not think that his words (not recorded in Scripture) gave guidance, comfort and instruction? Do you not believe that what he said was a continuing and authoritative source of truth? Now take a little time to check out what the original Hebrew and Greek words are, if you study the words correctly you will find out that the majority mean GRAVE,you will find out that the word GEHENNA is also used, gehenna was a rubbish tip just outside of Jerusalem where fires continually burnt to destroy the waste

I see how well her books have helped you to believe and understand the bible. The doctrine of hell originated in scripture. Luke 16 is a clear and concise description of hellfire and torment not a parable.

White books which should probably be focused upon, and read from cover to cover. Compilations have probably been a curse. I view E.G. White as devotional, but not authoritative. To me, the words of Christ are supremely authoritative. And thank-you lazbo.

Do your research on the Great Controversy. She did not write it. It was first written by another man and published and he gave her a copy . Her husband rewrote it using the original as a frame work and also others in the church helped write it. Then she supposedly had a "vision" and they published the New Great Controversy under her name. Such a con artist.
