  • Thanks a lot!

  • that is so great my friend . i can listen to that riff all day , i sure wish i knew how to play guitar, AWESOME , many thanks for posting.

  • Great lesson, really clear and easy to follow. You manage to pack a lot of info into a short time, yet without going too fast. Thanks so much for taking the trouble. I've been playing this riff for two days now and I'm still not quite up to speed, but I'm getting there! Oh man, the blisters...

  • @blurplesimon I appreciate the comment; it's a pleasure to help - Enjoy the journey don't worry about getting to the destination!! Happy Holiday's ~ Joe

  • Hello Joe if it's in open G tuning you still play the same way you show?

  • @jsteelman1000 No, in open G tuning you would start with open strings and have to change fingerings to transpose the chords. Not sure if it would be easier as I've never tried it but that is an interesting question. Thanks for that......My best ~ Joe

  • Hey dude sounds good! Just wanted to say that I think the riff maybe in "open G" tuning??? DGDGBD.

  • That riff is a bitch!.

    Well done Joe...very well done!

  • he played it your way.. i think he would say, "i did it my way"..lol. p.s.-he also draped a hand towel over the strings to mute them when he recorded the track. nice work!

  • top man, really well presented, big hand for you man!

  • Excellent, thanks for the lesson!

  • @berluismz You're very welcome, I appreciate the comment-it makes doing the lessons fun! ~ All my best ~ Joe

  • Nice Job Joe.. have to learn this for band next month.. think I'll try your way..

  • @JonathanAnon Glad to hear you like it, just take it slow at first and build up the "muscle memory"-then the speed will come. Best of Luck-I'm sure you'll nail it ~ Joe

  • @gtrjoeles yeah I got the CD of songs to learn for next month, and thought I'd better give this a bit of time.. Do you know if this is the way that James Burton played it.. I've seen other versions online played with open strings.. And I cant find a video of Burton playing it..

  • @JonathanAnon I'm not sure if it's how James Burton played it, but it made the most sense to me this way - I tend to think in "economy of motion". I think you should play it the most comfortable way for you ~ Joe

  • Awesome job my friend. Thank you so much for this. I've needed to learn this for so long. I love ELVIS and this soong too. GOD bless you for showing this to us.

Great job and you play so great too :)

  • @Janicemaxwell You are most welcome, I appreciate the comment. I'm blessed after all these years of struggling to be able to play well enough that, for me, the least I can do is share what I know to help others.

    All my best ~ Joe
