A bit unrelated but I simply couldn't believe this...we're here watching a television segment of the gorgeous KC, who we lost to anorexia nervosa nearly thirty years ago and whats the ad that comes up on my screen? "5 foods you must not eat." 28 years on and we as a society have learnt nothing from our past... I love you, Karen...
Today it's the anniversary of this television special. It was aired 33 years ago. Thank you for posting. It's very beautiful. Karen will always have a place in our heart and will live forever. Carpenters music is timeless. Thank you very much.
Gosh, wish there would be shows like this nowadays on television. Carpenters are hilarious at times! Who-ever stated that they were not having a good relationship???
This is diamond material! Specially all the spoken parts!
I think. like all family members they're went through different times - they could have some tiffs or conflicts between them, but at the end they've always remained soul-mates.
They pre-recorded all the material for their television specials, sometimes re-recording a song for a different sound, or using pre-existing recordings. They did this to control the balance of the sound.
The Lawrence Welk Show did this for years as well.
ahhhh that VOICE. Jesus and Karen---first two voices I want to hear when I go to heaven.

I've always wondered why Karen's voice sounds so "little girl" like (speaking and singing) by 1976.
