My Greatgrandfather never learned more than a little English, and he was not allowed to teach me Slovak, by his own Daughter, my Grandmother, she was so afraid.

Like this anthem a lot, it has a distinct dark, sad tune to it. I like it more when it's contradicting to the other european anthems like Marseillaise which has an uplifting effect. Such national anthems of Slovakia and Turkey alike reminds me of hardships and sufferings that people had to endure.

My Greatgrandfather never learned more than a little English, and he was not allowed to teach me Slovak, by his own Daughter, my Grandmother, she was so afraid.

Like this anthem a lot, it has a distinct dark, sad tune to it. I like it more when it's contradicting to the other european anthems like Marseillaise which has an uplifting effect. Such national anthems of Slovakia and Turkey alike reminds me of hardships and sufferings that people had to endure.
