Nice job! I just got mine done, took my old Strat that I've tinkerd with for years and copied the design from the Krammer Frankenstein Replica that Eddie had back in the 80s. As this moment I'm tapin up for the VH1 Black and White. Yours looks great, how much was the San Dimas Charvel?
This is a san dimas 1 by Charvel. As far as the taping, yes you tape over the black and white stripes to create the pattern you want when you apply the red. Start with black painted guitar, then tape for the black stripes, apply white paint, take all the tape off then tape again for the black and white stripes, apply the red paint and your done. So before the red paint, where ever you want a black or white stripe, apply tape. Hope this helps.

I went to the EVH site and just looked at his Frank and did the best I could. The front is really close, the back I didn't follow as closely.
