Okay...why is it that "Yellow Fever" by the Bloodhound Gang has 4/5 stars and is "accepted" by the Asian community? On youtube, that video has comments from Asian males and females saying they understand it's just a satirical song. Why is Natalise taking heat for a song with a positive message, where as Bloodhound Gang (white MALES) are let off easy? Such a double standard. Asian haters: you need learn to pick your battles.

Is Natalise a Dance, Acoustic, R&B, Hip-Hop Artist or now a political activist? Its a shame she always brings up the fact that she went to Stanford, but so did other better musicians such as Vienna Teng. Natalise needs to first be true to herself. Less than 8000 albums sold should indicate a change in career is warranted. Give up the Blonde Highlights, Fake Lesbian tendencies, and go back to what you know...nothing! Oh yea, on the idea of all the white and black males taking Asian females, I think different factors contribute to this. If you look at history, you know that caucasians have a history of being more proactive and in a sense, "aggressive" and asians more isolation. And in general, doesn't it seem more statistically likely for a white or black male to date an asian female here in America than an asian male? I mean, there's obviously more of them than there are asian males around.

All I'm saying is that by having more open minded Asian Americans, we enable the world to see us for who we REALLY are (awesome, strong and confident people), therefore invalidating the stereotypes as true. But if you get all offended and cry about it, you're just gonna make it worse for the rest of us and you will strengthen and become (at least to the the rest of White America) the very thing we're trying to nullify.

I mean, what confuses and frustrates me is that the Asian American community, willingly, supported William Hung! NOW, listen, William Hung is NOT a typical portrayal of an Asian male, but because he was so highly supported and gained media attention, he became the poster boy for what a typical Asian male could possibly be like to the rest of the U.S. that didn't live in predominantly Asian communities (Daly City, Millbrae, etc).
Acknowledging them with laughter and a smile, letting others know that we don't care they exist because they don't matter! On another note, look at Asian Americans who HAVE acknowledged these stereotypes and have been able to embrace them and laugh at them. They've all been successful! I mean, just by looking up Asian American comedians on youtube (nigahiga and kevjumba), you can already see how much more the world respects people who embrace their culture and can laugh at it.
We, as Asian Americans, have been playing the role of the quiet "model minority" for much too long and its about time someone did something about it. Let's take a lesson from history: African Americans have made huge strides in the past 50 or so years since the legislation of the Jim Crow Laws. And have done so by uniting as a people and supporting those who believed and fought for social progression. Whether it was the pacifistic ways of MLK or the extreme, "by any means" beliefs of Malcolm X.
African Americans have proven to continually push the barriers of social inequality through all possible mediums including a spectrum of opinions, but always, with the same goal in mind; (different means, same end). The point is, no matter what, the majority of the African American community supported these leaders', activists', comedians' and artists' causes as long as their goal was just. You can say well, "I don't want to support her just because she's Asian." And I'd gladly understand that!
Then, if not for her music; if not for her ethnicity; do it because the end justifies the means. And look, I know it's hard to face these stereotypes at times, believe me, I really do. I, personally, understand the issues with pride (ex: AZN pride, egos) that many Asians, especially men, deal with. But, we have to be confident (not overly prideful) when dealing with these stereotypes.

Offensive?! Come on....if this is offensive, that would make Saturday Night Live, Mad TV and every show on Comedy Central/Adult Swim absolutely evil. Natalise is one of the most talented up and coming pop stars/musicians I've come across lately. This song is hilarious and every time I listen to it the song sticks in my head for days. Okay...why is it that "Yellow Fever" by the Bloodhound Gang has 4/5 stars and is "accepted" by the Asian community? On youtube, that video has comments from Asian males and females saying they understand it's just a satirical song. Why is Natalise taking heat for a song with a positive message, where as Bloodhound Gang (white MALES) are let off easy? Such a double standard. Asian haters: you need learn to pick your battles.

That being said, I don't really get what the big deal is either. My guess would be that they're mad she got discovered when she's only average at singing, average at dancing, and there are millions of other Asian females that are as hot or hotter than her.

Is Natalise a Dance, Acoustic, R&B, Hip-Hop Artist or now a political activist? Its a shame she always brings up the fact that she went to Stanford, but so did other better musicians such as Vienna Teng. Natalise needs to first be true to herself. Less than 8000 albums sold should indicate a change in career is warranted. Give up the Blonde Highlights, Fake Lesbian tendencies, and go back to what you know...nothing! Stir up more controversy so maybe your 3rd album can fail like the other 2.

Oh yea, on the idea of all the white and black males taking Asian females, I think different factors contribute to this. If you look at history, you know that caucasians have a history of being more proactive and in a sense, "aggressive" and asians more isolation. And in general, doesn't it seem more statistically likely for a white or black male to date an asian female here in America than an asian male? I mean, there's obviously more of them than there are asian males around.

All I'm saying is that by having more open minded Asian Americans, we enable the world to see us for who we REALLY are (awesome, strong and confident people), therefore invalidating the stereotypes as true. But if you get all offended and cry about it, you're just gonna make it worse for the rest of us and you will strengthen and become (at least to the the rest of White America) the very thing we're trying to nullify.

I mean, what confuses and frustrates me is that the Asian American community, willingly, supported William Hung! NOW, listen, William Hung is NOT a typical portrayal of an Asian male, but because he was so highly supported and gained media attention, he became the poster boy for what a typical Asian male could possibly be like to the rest of the U.S. that didn't live in predominantly Asian communities (Daly City, Millbrae, etc).

Acknowledging them with laughter and a smile, letting others know that we don't care they exist because they don't matter! On another note, look at Asian Americans who HAVE acknowledged these stereotypes and have been able to embrace them and laugh at them. They've all been successful! I mean, just by looking up Asian American comedians on youtube (nigahiga and kevjumba), you can already see how much more the world respects people who embrace their culture and can laugh at it.

We, as Asian Americans, have been playing the role of the quiet "model minority" for much too long and its about time someone did something about it. Let's take a lesson from history: African Americans have made huge strides in the past 50 or so years since the legislation of the Jim Crow Laws. And have done so by uniting as a people and supporting those who believed and fought for social progression. Whether it was the pacifistic ways of MLK or the extreme, "by any means" beliefs of Malcolm X.

African Americans have proven to continually push the barriers of social inequality through all possible mediums including a spectrum of opinions, but always, with the same goal in mind; (different means, same end). The point is, no matter what, the majority of the African American community supported these leaders', activists', comedians' and artists' causes as long as their goal was just. You can say well, "I don't want to support her just because she's Asian." And I'd gladly understand that!

Then, if not for her music; if not for her ethnicity; do it because the end justifies the means. And look, I know it's hard to face these stereotypes at times, believe me, I really do. I, personally, understand the issues with pride (ex: AZN pride, egos) that many Asians, especially men, deal with. But, we have to be confident (not overly prideful) when dealing with these stereotypes.

Many of you obviously have a lot to learn about self-empowerment. Natalise's video is a clear dramatization poking fun at the ridiculous stereotypes out there regarding Asian Americans. I applaud her for breaking the trend of being the "silent" minority. A Stanford graduate, record label owner, and successful artist and you want to call her a sell out??? She's one fly @ss chic in my opinion, and any community should be proud to call her one of their own.
