GG2 Overture makes a nice change from endless FPS games. Animating all the moves for a fighter is a lot more work than making a shooter, that's why you don't often see this combination of genres.
guilty gear from the start looks like the makers had good intentions but went over the top with making such a typical looking anime with cool looking costumes but confusing gameplay with a lot of thrown in weird action moves with crazy ass names. Street fighter put simply just rocks.
It's called Aquila. In the story mode they explain why he lost the thunderseal, but...i still have the feeling that this involves he famous rights loss with SEGA

@Cantido Actually brutal legend came later, and online is MUUUUUCH thinier than the GG2 overture. In fact, Brutal legend shines on single play mode, while overture had been made ONLY with online in mind...and that's why overture single play mode actually sucks

I wish this game had been more successful. My problem with is was the art style, it just didn't feel like the same universe as the other Guilty Gears.

I have nearly 200 games for the 360, and this one is in my top 5, without a doubt. If you love dota style games, this pushes the concept to the next level.
If you're really a fan(goes to all GG2 haters) of GG, then you should understand that the story line doesn't call for a 1on1 match but rather a large scale battle. Limitations in earlier systems made it a 1on1 fighting game(or group in Isuka). Large battle was made possible in next gen console but this was one of the early games so it's still not that big of a battle compared to Dynasty Warriors. I love GG2 and hope GG3 would feature MUCH larger battles with all GG characters old and new.

The game is good... the only problem is that its dead.... very few ppl play it online. I would ususally recommend this game to ppl who are big fans of the dynasty warriors serise, and dont get bored of it easily... game really doesnt have too much depth to it, and may get very repeative to most ppl.
I don't know if i can actually enjoy this. I am a die Hard fan of the series. Maybe this will be the one game i will have to put aside. I'm just used to Arcade feel of my fighter games.

Its hardly a contraciction. The god thing wasnt prominent outside of Ky or That Man. Sol and the rest of the cast are people of a scientific world and realize how creation came about. The lack of crucifixes is down to the fact that only Ky is religious. Sol and the others definatly arent.
yeah but throughout the old games there were plenty of religious references like the GGX video starting off with a bible verse or A.B.A's key having a crucifixe indent. but i think theyre just pullin the classic japanese "unique take on god" thing cuz on the second part of the lore it imply that god (in guilty gear) coulda been someone who accessed the backyard and became "the lord of this world"
GG kinda just used the Christian symbols to show European cultural aspects to stylized the game. But they did well in molding Ky's character as a religious man.
i love guilty gear, and i love this game, its REALLY HARD to play, im having a headache trying to beat the NPC, its my 2nd day, yeah u get ur hopes down when the npc beats you real bad but once you get the hang of it, it turns out really fun, im starting to learn all the servants advantage and disadvantage, this game is not anything like the GG we know, its not an *all out attack* you have to think alot and plan a good stragety, not to mention to think real fast and move ur fingers real fast!!

I can see it, I finished it today and can't really see myself ever coming back to it. The most fun I had in it were the Raven and Sin fights and the last fight with Valentine only because of the music.

Wow! It is kinda amazing that am still recieving messages about this game. Yeah, you could say he wanted a game like this, but his more successful side is in the 2D fighting. Hell, I do not mind if its 3D(like Street Fighter 4) as long as it keeps its roots, fighting! Now judging it by its genre, it is not that bad! But I recommend renting it because seriously, its not that great(it sucks in my opinion). And Im not a fanboy... I dont play alot of Guilty Gear even if its good.
I'll admit, the game doesn't look as bad as I originally thought it would be. Though the announcer sounds even worse than the GG Accent Core announcer. And wtf did they do to Ky? I had to read the video description just to find out it was him because he looks too different now. I just hope that after this, they go back to the original 2-d fighter format.
And no, Blazblue is not the almighty answer to those that ask for a true Guilty Gear sequel, just before anyone says that.

This isn't the permanent new direction of Guilty Gear. Remember Isuka? Things didn't stay like that. And even if this does somehow become the permanent new direction for Guilty Gear, at least BlazBlue will be out.

It's pretty cool. It's an experimental game, combining RTS with fighting. Mostly online multiplayer gameplay, so focus on playing it over Live.

Plus the crucifixes on the clothin, etc. so it realy suprised me when in this game, in the lore sec., it says that the world was created form the backyard and we evolved from the sea. Isnt that kinda contradicting the old guilty gears?

Its hardly a contraciction. The god thing wasnt prominent outside of Ky or That Man. Sol and the rest of the cast are people of a scientific world and realize how creation came about. The lack of crucifixes is down to the fact that only Ky is religious. Sol and the others definatly arent.

yeah but throughout the old games there were plenty of religious references like the GGX video starting off with a bible verse or A.B.A's key having a crucifixe indent. but i think theyre just pullin the classic japanese "unique take on god" thing cuz on the second part of the lore it imply that god (in guilty gear) coulda been someone who accessed the backyard and became "the lord of this world"

GG kinda just used the Christian symbols to show European cultural aspects to stylized the game. But they did well in molding Ky's character as a religious man.

i love guilty gear, and i love this game, its REALLY HARD to play, im having a headache trying to beat the NPC, its my 2nd day, yeah u get ur hopes down when the npc beats you real bad but once you get the hang of it, it turns out really fun, im starting to learn all the servants advantage and disadvantage, this game is not anything like the GG we know, its not an *all out attack* you have to think alot and plan a good stragety, not to mention to think real fast and move ur fingers real fast!!

jeeze its that bad? from looking at the comments this game is awful. such a sad disappointment due to the extreme detail guilty gear's fighter had, it looks good to me (the combos look fantastic) but i think if i ever attempt this game i will rent it first. it looks like what mmorpg shouldve been off the bat (it looks like an improved WoW, what WoW should look like).

I can see it, I finished it today and can't really see myself ever coming back to it. The most fun I had in it were the Raven and Sin fights and the last fight with Valentine only because of the music.

Just make it 2d and fighter, and if they're feeling like we're not getting what we payed for, just add like alot of characters or music or modes at least.

Yeah! Not everything has to be 3D. They can work on the sprites even more by adding more movement to the characters. And not to mention HD, the game will be surperb! But I guess developers are trying new ideas until they come to realize that it was a big mistake and waste of money....

Lol for all your information the creator of Guilty Gear wanted the game like this. It orignally wasn't suppose to be 2-D fighting game. It was suppose to be a game like this. Give Daisuke the dream that he always wanted when he first created this game. This game is really really fun to me, of course if you like strategy.

Wow! It is kinda amazing that am still recieving messages about this game. Yeah, you could say he wanted a game like this, but his more successful side is in the 2D fighting. Hell, I do not mind if its 3D(like Street Fighter 4) as long as it keeps its roots, fighting! Now judging it by its genre, it is not that bad! But I recommend renting it because seriously, its not that great(it sucks in my opinion). And Im not a fanboy... I dont play alot of Guilty Gear even if its good.

The game itself isn't confusing at all. Once you realize what it is you're supposed to be doing, everything operates likc clockwork.

I'll admit, the game doesn't look as bad as I originally thought it would be. Though the announcer sounds even worse than the GG Accent Core announcer. And wtf did they do to Ky? I had to read the video description just to find out it was him because he looks too different now. I just hope that after this, they go back to the original 2-d fighter format.
And no, Blazblue is not the almighty answer to those that ask for a true Guilty Gear sequel, just before anyone says that.

This isn't the permanent new direction of Guilty Gear. Remember Isuka? Things didn't stay like that. And even if this does somehow become the permanent new direction for Guilty Gear, at least BlazBlue will be out.
