I know its sight-reading, but to be honest, you butchered it in a sense. Accents in the wrong places, playing it too fast, and treating almost in a martellato style of playing. Everything is in tune, and the rhythms are right, but PLAY IT SLOWER.
Very beautifully played. I know you're a violinist, not a violist, but you have a real feel for the viola. Thanks for doing these amazing sound samples!!!
Freakin' ear-splitting piece of shit. This is supposed to be a beatiful piece but you have successfully butchered it. Get a life and do something else instead od meddling into something that is just not in your nature.
wow, i don't remember, but it might have been. i remember that it was made in reghin. i just sampled a fantastic christian gliga viola...awsome instrument.
I was just wondering, because it's Romanian. But yeah, I was thinking about purchasing a Gliga Master level instrument (one of the Strad models) and I was just wondering if that was it.
thanks!!! we play in four youth orchestras, two chamber orchestras and two quartets so we do tons of reading every year...it has really helped us alot on sightreading.
Thanks for replying! I do have a question though. How do you have access to all these instruments? Do you just play on them for fun? I know they're part of a collection, so do you just play them to try them out? Yeah... Just wondering.
hi, the instruments were owned by a professional violinist and teacher in our area. they were collected over a lifetime, but were rarely (if ever) even taken out of their cases. some haven't seen the light of day in 50 years. we were asked to do the sound samples by our teacher. we get about 5 minutes to open the case, tune them up, pick something from an accompanying sheet music collection, and record the video. it started out as just doing a favor, but we've learned alot and love doing it.
