my parents just bought Pontiac Torrent its very good , not the GXP one though , we dont really need 4wd drive soo.. Anyway yes the GXP looks better and is better but for us the normal one is perfect :)
I have an 06 and I love it. It has 39,000 miles and has had no problems at all. It has more than enough room for 4 on a long trip plus it doesn't look bad on the outside. I would like to say the interior could of used more comfortable seat and more leg room in the back. I also think the dash looks to cheap. Overall I would give this 4 of 5 stars for family comfort.

They are a good car, just not very well built on the interior, thats the one con I have about it. Take a look at a TrailBlazer instead, the interior is just as bad, but the TrailBlazer isn't much more expensive, plus it has a larger engine with more power.
i just got an equinoz recently. and i absolutely love it, the suspension is great and its very roomy in the back seats as well. i have noting against it!

have your mom get the Equinox sport model. They look alot nicer and they have the 3.6 liter engine instead of the 3.4

Its has like 5 cup holders and cargo holds a lot the seats go down and the trunk is huge!
