  • take a pencil, coil a wire around it a bunch of times, stick one end on the positive terminal on your starter, and ground the other to your frame. Youll get 8% better gas mileage. Quick way to change the frequency of the motor. Also, in any modern stock motor, only burns about 20-30% of the gas it gets... There are 2 sparks in a cycle, the second ignites the negative energy, imploding it, causing the piston to be sucked back up for the next cycle.

  • @Djonemore they're designed to be a lot more effecient and keep the engine in the right powerband for the right situation. u can hardly notice the shifting too and the shifting is a lot smoother than of a camaro

  • I wasnt suprised at all about the 0-60time, more about the 0-100 time of about 29sec. I was watching this and when the view went to the outside i was thinking "damn im going to miss the 0-100 time" then when it went back to the speedo it still wasnt at 100 and i was like "wtf?" But in anycase you can pick one of these up for a gand or so and its cheap Rwd fun.

  • @IROCwarriorAMC88 Yeah but... For the same price of the V8 4th Gen, you can turbocharge or sc the V6 and Come up w roughly the same speed and accel. IDK about how the whole reliable thing would go over then though, better off with a supercharged V6

  • @wcbrookinz101 No you wouldn't you would have to pay someone to retune your pcm, and a S/C will add more drag on an engine and will cause the reliability to go down. Why do you think performance cars and make and manufacturers have a 3yr/36,000 mile warranty compared to a reliable fuel economy's car that has a 10 year/100k warranty. Performance cost money. Also you may get the same speed and accel but the power bands between the two are way different(night and day)

  • @wcbrookinz101 also after doing all that performance upgrades on a V6 good luck on our trans lasting and drive shaft not snapping. Those flimsy two piece drive shafts are crap and a V6 T5 and V6 4L60-E are not built the same as a V8s transmission. The V8 transmissions have stronger flex plates and TC and clutches to handle the more tq

  • @IROCwarriorAMC88 tb work with supporting mods will help. i have a 3.4 bird with cai catless exhaust msd ignition and tb work, i was running 10.7 at the track then i put on a set of taylor 8.2 mm wires and and did tb work and was down to a 10.48. still slow but a lil less slow :)

  • @GPVlog The 3.4 was cheaper to make, since that's what the olds and other chevy cars had.

  • @6453103 Actually no this 3.4L is a L32 V6 compared to the LA1 or the LQ1 you are referring to. Completely different engines bud. The whole top ends of each engine is different especially the LQ1 which is a Dual Over Head Cam(DOHC) compared to the other two which are a CIB.

  • @GPVlog They didn't put the 3.8L in at the time because GM didn't have it in production for a RWD platform yet. You may say that had a 3.8L in the 85 vGrand National but that is a completely different engine than the L36 series two 3.8L which produces a lot less emissions which all the big auto makers were trying to do at the time was lower emissions like CO2, HC, NOX,CO,etc... for the mandated OBD2 set by the Government. That is why this L32 3.4L drop off the face of the earth in 96 with the

    Agreed, everyone thinks chevy sb normal gains when they do these mods, but in reality you gotta go farther to get half as much. Not really a bad thing, takes more, but you learn more. Also, stock injectors pretty much max you out at 160hp, otherwise you start leaning out. I'd recommend a fuel pressure regulator and bump up the psi a few pounds, but only after you get more air into the engine. Pretty good mod is the 3400/3500 upper swap, but you gotta change pistons too.

    a stock 94 v6 camaro does 0-60 in 9.6 - 10 sec

    a stock 98 altima with 2.4L does 0-60 in 8.4 - 8.7 sec

    v6 camaro's weight to HP ratio is 20.94 lbs per HP

    98 altima's weight to HP ratio is 19.02 lbs per HP

    and as far as top speed goes, neither one of the cars is gonna hit it on a 1/4 mile track.............so yea my altima is faster then ur v6 camaro and i can fit 5 people in comfortable and u cant! so suck it!

  • @feeblemind really i had owned a 95 3.4 with cam, piston, lifter and header upgrade with dual flowmaster and cold air intake and was barely running that, hell my 97 firebird 3.8 with dual flowmaster, intake, and perf. chip is running around 6 secs. if your gonna talk down on a car atleast know the truth about your own first, a 95 3.4 5 speeds 0-60 time is roughly 9 secs even with a perfect launch. nice try bud

  • @SwagLiltXL i swapped out the computer and dash in my 95 and ran 140, but the transmission wasnt meant to run that hard so i backed off it

  • Around 200hp I like to think with the AC delete 160 stat K&N TB mods No cat and Jet stage 2 chip I should have picked up around 40 for everything.

  • not worth 40 hp. These motors gain 40 hp from head/cam/headers not just a few bolt ons. Not trying to be rude just letting you know

  • Even then an LS1 would need some mods if its from the 90's to keep up with a gtp with minor bolt ons.

  • I have a 96 3.8L camaro that looks almost exactly like yours. Only the speedo on mine goes up to 120 instead of 110.
