  • Did they mistake the values for carbon and oxygen in the pie graph? makes no sense to me

  • @DaMagician91 Carbon would make up most of the dry weight, but remember the human body is about 70% water so there's a lot of oxygen there.

  • @PaulPower4 but water molecules have 2 atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen, which means that there should be a lot more hydrogen, also considering the hydrogen bonded in the organic compounds

  • @DaMagician91 They are possibly doing the percentages based on weight. An oxygen atom weights eight times as much as two hydrogen atoms. I still don't understand nitrogen's value, but possibly because nitrogen is pretty much just used in amino acids.
