UO was the first one I played. I started in 1998 when i was like 12. Some people here say there were MMOs before UO, UO however must have been the first commercially promoted MMO because I never heard of any before UO. I wouldn't say UO, to me was quite as addicting though. I think EverQuest started the real addiction.
