Hey Retrosound! Nice demo!. I found a Waldorf Microwave 2 local for around 188 $ is it worth the buy? i really like the sound.. And another question, could you sync this up with one of the electribes via midi? :) Cheers

Hi, schöner track! Du hast ja auch eine Microwave 1. Würdest du die klanglich nicht der MW 2 vorziehen? Oder anders, was macht die MW2 besser?

Ich habe den MW1 und MW2, denn sie haben beide ihre Stärken. Der MW1 klingt rauher und fetter und ist ein fantastischer Bass-Synth. Crispe Digitalsounds und Chöre sind ebenfalls seine Stärke. Der Sound geht mehr in richtig PPG als beim MW2.

Der MW2 kann aber diese herrlichen, morphenden Flächensounds die mit dem MW1 einfach nicht zu programmieren sind. Der Soundcharakter ist wirklich ziemlich unterschiedlich, aber beide haben ihre Berechtigung.

Ich kenne das auch, wenn man sich einmal in ein paar Synths reingehört hat erkennt man in jedem seinen speziellen Charakter, auf den man dann nicht mehr verzichten kann. Auch wenn die meisten Leute keinen Unterschied hören können oder es ihnen egal ist...

Das stimmt. Man hört bei beiden Synths woher sie kommen. Der MW1 hat eben das echte analoge Curtis-Filter und da kommt das digitale Pendant des MW2 nicht annähernd ran. Deshalb kommen Bässe und Klänge die vom Filter leben bei dem MW1 besser rüber. Der Mw2 klingt dafür HIFI mäßiger.

I was on to pick up an expander too, but this time I get back with a sampler (as I can put my stuff in bank). But having an expander is good if your workstation is limit in polyphonic channels. These two boxes have truly sweet sounds ^^

Können solche modernen Synthesizer mehrere Instrumente gleichzeitig spielen? Weil wenn ich mir nach und nach ein schönes rack aufbaue und zb zuerst nur einen waldorf habe, dann kann ich ja nur entweder hintergrundklänge oder lead sound spielen.?

Die "modernen" synths können den sogenannten Multimode d.h. man kann auf verschiedenen Midikanälen verschiedene Sounds spielen. Allerdings geht das auf Kosten der Stimmenzahl.

if I'm not mistaken, the guy who created this patch died a few years back.

he was a heavy diabetic, and lived by himself.

he had a seizure, went into a coma and they found him five days later.

it was on the Kawai user group a few years back.

very tragic !

definitely one of the best sounds of the K5000 !
