You cannot cook acid. If acid is heated at a temperature more than a burning cigarette, the chemicals inside would dissolve and there would be nothing to trip on. It would be pointless.
a quite randome suggestion but maybe DXM, theres a proccess in which you can get pure DXM from cough syrup, and i believe some one could possibly disolve dxm in a liquid like alcohol or something, and soak it into blotter paper. That or some other drug you can put on blotter like some research chemicals or something
Whatever it was he was cooking on the stove, it most likely wasn't acid, because you need a lot of knowledge of organic chemistry to make acid (it's very hard), and acid also degrades at high temperatures.
If your roommate is strictly into psychedelics, there's a chance he was making DMT or Ayahuasca or something (I think you can use stoves for those, never tried making them).
I'm quite familiar with DMT Buying it illegally is indeed quite expensive, and it is very powerful.
DMT is easy and inexpensive to extract from legal materials though. I've never extracted it, but I've done plenty of research. For just $100 of supplies, you can make somewhere around 5g, which is about 100 very strong doses.
I'm not sure theres only 10, but you cant just cook it on a stove in a kitchen, you need a lab and such.
