  • Klaus is such a cutie.

  • I was in high school when this aired. I missed it but the next day all my friends told me about this weird store that played The B-52's and some guy wearing black lipstick. It sounded like heaven!

  • 1:52 SUPERCUTE! :D Wanna kiss him too. :D

  • Quick put me on a rocket 2 planet Nomi!

  • Wormhole please!

  • Time machine please!

  • Was that Joey Ramone behind the "looks wild to me" guy? I love Joey!

  • In red, Joey Arias, a legend himself. Performing regularly in ny, and touring the world in the show arias with a twist.

  • lol Lou Ferrigno at 2:36

  • On a beaut. Saturday in Sept. '78 I bought the most unusual shirt at Fiorucci (with a small button down collar-so much for Saturday Night Fever, which was dated even when it came out). Wore it that night to the DCA Club in Phila. (its DJ cowrote "Hot Shot"), dancing to Macarthur Park by Donna Summer - pure 70's fun. And the tight jeans - God knows how we go them on (and don't forget the skinny belt that went around the waist twice). Loved that time even tho memories of it are painful for many.

  • I like guy from Tennessee

  • REAL PEOPLE! I used to love that show as a kid. and the little bits with Klaus are great! SO GRATEFUL FOR THIS!

  • Tack-O is where it's at! I love JOEY ARIAS!

  • I would buy clothes from them:)

  • Too true. What would straight people do for entertainment without weird people?

  • I WORKED IN FIORUCCI BACK IN THE 70's AS AN UNDERCOVER SECURITY OFFICER. THAT'S WHEN I MET FABULOUS FOLKS LIKE ANDY WARHOL, STEVE RUBELL & KLAUS NOMI (RIP). MY FAVORITE CO-WORKERS WERE JOEY ARIAS AND KATHERINE WALLACH (WE GOT ALONG GREAT CAUSE WE WERE BORN 2 MONTHS APART. I SURELY MISS THOSE DAYS. IT WAS TRULY AMAZING <3

  • "Fiorucci's." What a hick.

  • Joey Arias is still performing!

  • @Auntkekebaby sadly, but today he is ugly and miserable old fag. I don't want to see him as such...

  • @SadPerson4 cigarette?

  • Oh my god this is what YouTube exists for! What a great upload! Thank you so much!

  • Love these RARE videos about the 80's and New York, then!

Miss it. I miss it allll.

  • Love these RARE videos about the 80's and New York, then!

  • What year was this? It looks about '79-'80 or so.

  • @Genkimark

IT WAS THE LATE 70'S :)

  • Proof that Nomi was an alien, documented here. Love live art

  • Bunch of squares outside looking in. Always jealous and inhibited. Get a life and have fun! Life is so short!

  • @mozalicious Remember as well, that the 'freaks' NEEDED someone to shock! Things are worse now...that everyone's -allegedly - a "freak"!

  • what is so funny about this is now it looks so tame but back then it was UNIMAGINABLE!

  • ahhhh the good old days.......the origin of the "club kid"

  • the Klaus Nomi in this clip is more of a human

  • I loooooooooooooooove Klaus Nomi xD

At the end : "Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiightiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing striiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiking agaaaaaaaaain !

    ...

    That's all !"

  • @GoodChineezeCheeze That's the B52s! Planet Claire & Rock Lobster respectively!

  • @jacquiesedits Yes, I found B52s in tags later :)

  • Will never forget the day walking manhattan at 18-19 years old and discovering a neon/ fluorecent clothing store playing loud music, unheard at the time, Fiorucci circa 1979-80, the daytime studio 54. klaus nomi have the honor to be the first performer who died of Aids. Joey arias still around performing.

  • I love how at 2:04 klaus really freaks that guy out. I could have probably fit in there real well lol.thank you so much for putting this up it is great.

  • Thank you so much for sharing this. It's just amazing.

  • I wish i can buy clothing like their's today.

  • Fiorucci was SO ahead of the game, the resonance from what he was doing three decades ago is still evident in fashion even today...and likely will be for a long time.

  • i wish i was alive back then.

  • thanks for posting i have been a fioruccci fan from back in the days and has been always a great source of inspiration for me

amazing little movie retail was so much more entertaining then

  • i miss the old new york. the edge had gone.

  • @trylonperisphere - not Joey Ramone - the legendary JOEY ARIAS

  • Am I not being clear? I am referring to the person in the background of the shot at 1:45. Nice that someone gave thumbs down to my casual observation.

  • That's why I gave you a thumbs up to rub it out. :) But the nose and the hair don't look quite right. It could be him, I grant you.

  • 'preciate it!

  • Joey RAMONE? 1:45

  • He does look like Joey, but I think he's too short to be him.

  • He's much taller than the other guy in the background of that shot.

  • Just great!!! I still have a shirt I bought at Fiorucci's many moons ago!

  • i love nomi!!!!!!!and joey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for posting! I love hearing Klaus said " Freaky" lol!
