Not one single asian heart throb singer/actor to be named. You don't find them on the cover of GQ or Teen magazine. What a wonderful film, but I also would have loved to hear some commentary on the feelings of being bi-racial. Many of us out here are in this group, and while some of us just accept it and realize we are just part of the intricate tapestry that are humans, others struggle, and face discrimination on a daily basis, especially since society likes to place neat little labels on people, and bi-racials can't be easily labeled. However we are growing in numbers, and we truly are the racial future. =)

I'm also part Hawaiian that's why, and a large reason to why I don't use the term is because people assume you might be talking about your white ethnicities, when really I mean my Hawaiian side.

If people are going to use it as such, they should at least put Hapa-Asian. Or Hapa-Haole, like my papa.

Yes, Hapa was originally used for Hapa Haole--White and Hawaiian absolutely no other ethnicity and then the Asians moved to Cali and it became their Hapa-white/asian. They do not do this in Hawaii----you know my peeps would come down on them hard. I'm glad you said, "Hapa/Asian Good for you!!!

If I want to be really specific, I says, "My mom is Chinese from Hong Kong, and my dad is a white American." Why do so many Hapas feel this feeling of confliction?
