  • I also have one of these radios. The tuning gear developed detents in it...which is due to that pinion gear issue. I can still tune the radio fairly well, but it is really annoying. The radio was purchased in Jafco Stores in Seattle, in 1984. Like your radio, it has outlasted the store by a long time. I don' t use it much because of the tuning issue, but it is one of the most powerful SW radios I have in my collection. It has BFO, RF Gain, and W/N band selector. Great FM sound as well.

  • Looks to be based on the Panasonic RF-2600.... Nice!

  • @poikaa3 Yes you are right! It is almost the same radio. Just in a different package.

I have had it since it was new. I bought it at a Van Lunens department store in 1984. It has outlasted the place where it was bought!

  • Very Nice

  • @Jeffo168 I am an avid SWLer and have been for 50+ years

  • Yes it does I forgot to say that! it is a very good receiver! A.M. FM SW 3.2-32 mhz! AGC It was very advanced for it's time. Someone told me it is an Panasonic 2600 in a different case
