Yeah, follow the advice. If you can transpose the thing into a lower bass range, you'll sound a lot better. (Bass voices are also incredibly sexy when they hit their lowest notes)

Try it in Dm... I think it would sound better... and I think the original is in Dm too. Sounds good :)

Have you considered transposing the song to better accommodate your low vocal range, so that you won't have to switch octaves?
