VFX's shouldn't be hard if you're using the appropriate programs, adobe after effects is a pretty easy one for people to pick up, but if you really wanna see what professional editors use look for effects designed for use with Avid or Final Cut Pro. A proper editing software will also let you try to fix the quality issues that are abundant here. I technically can't advocate getting cracked software... but the programs are professional quality and cost a fortune otherwise.
