  • Beautiful!

  • I clicked on the video...watched the intro...reflected on my American-ness of about 5 seconds...and went and watched a steve via video instead

  • you are BAD TO THE BONE!

  • love this.

  • Fab playing but why is guitar tuned sharp to concert?

  • OK...he played it slow and I was like o_O I just figured out the intro to Nothing Else Matters...

  • I would sell my soul to Satan for the ability to play flamenco like a god!...Yes, it's an invitation, I don't have your number, dude!

  • What I would give to play like that

  • guitar is flat. but great lesson :) amazing guitar player

  • "A video is the next best thing to a live person, actually in some cases it can even be better because you can stream the same material a thousand times without driving me crazy" LOL

  • @ThePhrydai ohhhhhhhhh im gonna drive you crazy dont you worry about that! XD

  • The sound of that guitar is MAGIC! What guitar is it?

  • you faking that accent bro? Sometimes I hear you speak and there's no accent and then it comes right back.

  • Amazing playing. I truly wish I could play like that. Wow.

    Yo!

  • this is awsome ADAM

  • @connerungarpvcs he playing flamenco so if you have long nails its less friction on your hands and sounds better..

  • in spanish plisss :):):) ♪♫♪♪

  • First of all, I really take my hat off and salute you Adam because of your deeply natural words about such an ancient art as flamenco is. I'm from Madrid, and love flamenco since I heard Camarón ("Rosa María" ohhh), down in the late 90's.

Anyway, thank you maestro por tus buenas palabras, tu entendimiento del arte y su historia, el toque precioso y sentido y el corazón que le pones a tus videos.

    oleee y oleee

    un abrazo

  • @verdecolor6 Oh - btw - flamenco is by no measure "ancient" but very much modern :)) if compared with classical or baroque repertoire.

  • The hard work is for the right hand, long nails is a most, for the rest it cames genetically :)I begin my classical guitar lessons from 1992 learn faruucas bollerias etc...but can be compare with real flamenco,u can learn by tabs and notes any kind of music rock jazz blues anything but not that,u must live with an old gypsy in Spain

  • Like your speach. Like the way you talk : clearly.

    Going to work on that

  • your buleria is out of time.... the most important thing about spanish music is time., que es lo que haces????????

  • @RealGuitarules Do NOT presume to tell Mr. Del Monte what the "most important thing about spanish music is!" - this is a critically aclaimed world-class artist with a bona-fide flamenco pedigree (does the name Pepe Habichuela ring a bell with you?)

Furthermore this Bulerias is perfectly in compas. There are alot of upbeats and syncopations which makes it a challenge to count, and perhaps he rushes just a small bit at around 0:30, but other than that, I can count it straight through.

  • of course you can put flamenco on paper ... there is just a lot of notes to break down

    nice playin by the way

  • your out of tune-ness is bothersome

  • @cleaningagent101 It's called phrygian dominant and if you don't have an ear for it than go back to listening to western pop. But please don't confuse your uncultured ear for legitimate criticism.

  • @jloutzification hahaha wow harsh. I just meant he hasn't tuned his guitar properly lol. If you don't believe me tune your guitar to standard tuning and then try and play along with him. take a chill pill while you're at it haha

  • @cleaningagent101 He's got a capo on the second fret! Maybe you missed that?

  • @jloutzification What have I done to deserve such resentment? lol. I can tell you haven't taken that chill pill. Look, he only has a capo on his guitar during the demonstration bit at the beginning. The bit where we're supposed to play along he doesn't have a capo on and his tuning is sharp. It means everyone has to re-tune to his out of tune-ness in order to play along and then re-re-tune as soon as they want to move on to something else. That's all I was saying.

  • awesoooooooooooooooome how u did that ?????? great

  • 0:28

  • AWSOME

  • do you have guitar pro files or other notes with this?

It's meen help get lesson full.

  • It's a nice tutorial. It is fast but usually right hand is a key to play fast like him.

  • You Play very fast!!!!! I Can't Follow!!!!

  • Way Cool. ...

  • oleeeeeeee maestrooo

y yo creoo ke tocasss algo tuyoooooooo

    oleeeee

  • awesome player but not as good of a teacher...

  • this man from another planet !

  • wooo!!! ya q quisiera entonar asip!! xD

  • bad teacher

  • I'm 100% with you on what you say about Flamenco. It is an ART, not a written science, and thats what makes it more beautiful. Music should come from the soul, not the mind.

One recommendation; Zoom in the camera and perhaps slow down just a little bit. I'm a guitarist of over 25 years, and even I had to rewind several times.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • @Nauticalman Music shouldnt come from the mind?

  • @LTDGuitars420 I studied music management, and I've told all the musicians whom I've managed to play from the heart. Without the heart, the mind dies, and so does the spirit of the song.

  • @Nauticalman There are software apps that can slow down video and audio files without changing the pitch. Google them. I have 3 of them, and they work great! A real boon to the student. You can slow down as much as you want, you can loop desired sections, etc. Great stuff.

  • vay amına koyyim.

  • Grande!! Podrías poner en castellana quillo, que asi no me entiendo

  • flamenco should be called (turbo team)

  • turbo team hands

  • turbo team

  • this kicked my ass.......

  • ey ola adam ur such gr8 man

u played very well Thanksfor the tutorial :)

  • you should be drug tested. :P

  • god days u went crazy

  • It kinda irks me that my guitar, tuned to 440 Hz standard tuning sounds off key to this one... do flamenco guitarists tune their guitars to some other pitch?

  • @skinsvideos21

    It seems a bit lower.

  • @skinsvideos21 man, look at the neck of the guitar, thats called a "cejilla" and its used to put the guitar in higher tones for singing. i dont know the name in english.

  • @willy1986tralara that would be called a capo, but there is no capo on his guitar in the video. i tuned my guitar a little bit higher so it could be the same as the one in the video

  • @kuyamark15 man use one of those capos! if not, you would break the neck

  • @willy1986tralara It means "little eyebrow."

  • Ohhh I liiiiiike! :) Impressive.

  • i like how a million people ask for tabs when he specifically says we're going to learn it like they do in spain "by hearing and seeing!"

  • Thank you! ¡Gracias! Im study Flamenco online. Your video is so good! Sorry for my poor english!

  • Give us the tabs

  • This is how I like online lessons! Understandable, clear and no unnecessary talking.

  • each flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucia plays what because he is the best

  • @khbzf what?

  • ¡Muy bien señor! Me encantó el vídeo. Fantastico

  • que VIVAN LOS GITANOS! :D

  • do you have a rough tab for the intro song in the first min?? what a savage piece

  • Can i please have a tab of the first minute? Thanks :)

  • holy shit!

  • I can play this perfectly now.

  • If you dont already play guitar this will be hard for you .

  • what??

  • this is flamenco in his pure state

with that special gipsy flavour and attitude that are needed to play it. Flamenco can't be mere technique, first of all it's soul and rhythm and touch

Adam Del Monte definitely gets the points

  • ay perroooo!!!

  • this guy is a boss. i wish i could play like that

  • j'adore c'est vraiment extra!:! olé!

  • Very nice video, and he is a very good teacher. His guitar is tuned half a semitone higher though :( Or maybe i m too lazy to change my tuning :p

  • viva el flamencoo!!!!

  • really it's soo nice , but is it possible to be a good guitar player as well as u r

  • e.g.Aires de Puerto Real can be simplified, shortened or Soleares de mi tierra. And I know people who would want to study this form (Solea) on perfomance material. First I judged them, than thought, man, they raise their standards that's good! It would lead them to hard down to earth basics! And scales evantually. Flamenco round beats are presented very good! Way to go, Adam!

  • Adam, excellent presentation. Especially, I think , the frase analysis.Exactly frases and traditional, famous pieces can be commercially effective. you know yourself people want to play like Paco tomorrow, but it cannot happen. But!!!You can give them simple-and then it would lead to your school.

  • i'm trying to watch you and figure out how to do this on a left handed guitar

  • @q8sniper2 i havent tried to play it ye, but the right hand looks like it just plays consequtive strings up and down

  • porque empiezas a tocar po bulerias y despues enseñas solea¿

  • muxa velocida pero poco soniquete amigo

  • Flamenco music is not meant to be written down... Golden words

  • agreed

  • @l0wr1der01 I don't think it's even possible to write Flamenco music down, it's so special... love it

  • beautiful..

  • no suena flamenco

  • its exelent guitar

  • your guitar has such a nice crisp sound to it!

  • it is well demonstrated, but why only 2 clock, why not say where it can dase off Tablature

  • I agree with cuaevasdecamuy-----i said to myself "If the lessons are like this example then we are all doomed!" The instructional part was simply useless for any beginner trying to fingure out what was played.

  • Thank you! But please tune your Guitar to 440Hz next time!

  • Why to 440Hz ?

  • Because then its easier to play along with you and to transcribe what you are doing! Or else tell us in the description how you tuned your guitar!

  • to 444Hz.

  • great performance man!

  • u can shoot me but u can never teach me that man im telling tou

  • It's too much. You have torn it to shreds.

  • muchas gracias adan eeres un mounstruo, felicidades hermano!!!!!!

  • Are the lessons just like this? I was thinking about buying the beginer pakage, but I cant really see what you are doing exactly, the cam is to far away, or are the lessons going to show a more detailed close up?

  • master of flamenco

  • Wow! Spectacular!

    Yo!

  • I could never learn this...I was in a normal band setting too much in my life. My dream is already over. :(

  • is that a guitar?

  • nope its a drum kit

  • Very good guitar gymnastics. But for aire and duende, I prefer Diego del Gastor, Perico del Lunar, and Melchor de Marchena.

  • you are really good, but it looks too hard. Your fingers go so fast its like a blur, cheers.

  • 0:32-0:35 thats some fast ass fingers o.o

  • muito foda meu *-*

  • do you have tab for that last minute and a half?

  • When you're this good, people tend to say he's a show-off! Well if he is, he can have his cake and eat it too. My respects for that technique....

  • afina la guitaraa !!

  • I love how Flamenco always pride itself of being free spirited, But not when it come to compas then we are all back to classical schools. As far as dancer and singers flamenco guitar no longer takes back stage to them as an accessories like metronome

  • you've got serious insecurities

  • tocas muy bien, me gustaria aprender flamenco, sera posible que la clase sea en español

  • ...seems like awright guy, 'something in his personality i just don't like'- what's up with u lot?

  • greate job. a duke of guitar....

  • Seriously beautifully played. The way the fingers move is totally seamless. Great music ^_^

  • va que controlas poco y tal, jejeje ole

  • he's a showoff jackass in the beginning.

  • hum ..so jackass that he probably is making good comments on his own videos lol

well there is no new vids since a long time

  • owesome man

    how are you ..?

  • This dudes beast.

  • we don't want to know about your private homosexual life thank you john

  • oleyy

  • Sorry, but didn't think that your free Flamenco lesson was such a great thing. You mention many words that the average English speaking person would not understand. In otherwords you did not break this down sufficiently. You used ligados, rasgueados and contratiempo and your demonstration that would confuse anyone that does not understand the cante aspect. Well sure you need the money, but if you are going to do something, then do it right. That's what your father would have said. Am I wrong?

  • How dare you insult the integrity of this guitarist who plays better than Pepe el Taxista and also Don Federico Master of Georgetown Estates..............

  • That's kinda harsh man (you're father?)... He plays beautifully and probably because he loves to. Besides, it's free, and you get what you pay for (that's what you're father would have said, right?).

  • man a lot of these comments piss me off.. when people complain about the quality of lessons from a FREE INTRO video... meaning this is a clip from a longer series of videos (that you have to pay for) where everything is broken down very clearly

  • Comment removed

  • Get over yourself already, and stfu. It's a free effin course, you knucklhead. Stop being such a wannabe.

  • too hard for me

  • intro?? it's very long but i love, it's very nice =)

  • Tocas muy bien, pero aprende a ponerte la cejilla boca arriba o se te soltara hijo mio jaja

  • BASIC LEVEL???? that was basic?? o_O

  • Theyre coated with Emp (enhanced molecular protection). They are a little more expensive than regular ones, but you wont need to change them as frequently. I have a set of sevilla silvered copper wrap with the emp coat to try when I finally put them on. Its not the only brand with the emp coat.

  • there are coated nylon strings.

  • don't put acoustic strings on a flamenco or classical guitar because it will ''explode''

The tension will be very to hard for the guitar

  • In a western guitar there is a steel soul in the neck. In the classical and flamenco guitar there isn't a thing like and the guitar will break for the tension...

  • Adam, I finally took some time off from my busy life and signed up for your Tarantas lesson. Man, you are awesome!!! Thanks to you, I can not put the guitar down now. I love the 2nd falseta, a bit challenging, but I am making progress.

  • Your have a lot of talent for playing but zero for teaching. I learnt absolutly nothing by watching this video and became very frustrated. You cant just play something slowly and expect us to learn the piece. Each technique should be tought separatly and then put together. I can't see the notes you are playing at all. I know flamenco is not written, put a link to your website so we can see it while you try to do our brain in.

  • happylittlemonk has a good point, Each technique SHOULD be taught separately and then put together. Well, if you get the tutorials on the website he offers THEY ARE!!! This is a short example designed to get people interested in the tutorials he offers which I'm in the process of working through. People should realize that his more complete tutorials are on the website and are very, very good.

  • This is a stupid point. Each technique SHOULD be taught separately, and if you check out his complete tutorials THEY ARE. I bought the beginner package from his website and it's very, very well done. THIS IS A SAMPLE LESSON! He isn't going to give everything away here, and he shouldn't. This is designed to enticed interested people to look at his tutorials from the website so he can make a little money so he can live and continue to play and teach.

  • If you try to teach to the PUBLIC then you must respect their feed back, and if you are going to give out a sample lesson then don't you think it should be the best so it will entice people into joining. I thought that was common sense. I watched the video several time but could not gain anything from it. I have watched 100s of other clips and most were educational and very easy to follow. Think about it. OK!

  • If he posted an example of the slower, better explained tutorials that come with the packages on the site, then, lets face it, few people would become interested because it requires way more time to go through pretty basic techniques (not easy, but basic). This post is more to intrigue people and get them interested in the playing style. You have no right to say that he has "zero talent for teaching" since you've only seen one quick video. I have the first package and it's easy to follow.

  • I have watched over 100 clips and have tutorials. I have made no comments on his package DVD, but about his demo clip. I don't think you understand. And don't tell me I can't comment on here freely. If he doesn't like it then don't use the FREE service to advertise himself. There are others such as you who disagree with me which is okay. So use your common sense. Please don't reply to me anymore, you are getting boring. You made your point and others will make their own mind. OK?

  • That's a shame you think I'm boring because I think you are really, really exciting. I was going to send you my email address and call you and fly to where ever you live and just hang out and become best friends and hold hands when nobody was around, not because we were romantically involved or anything, but because it just feels so good to know someone is there for you, you know? When things get tough, just remember that there is someone who loves and misses you. I'll never forget you.

  • Actually, this buleria is in compas, you just cant hear it when there is no palmas or cajon. These falsetas are from his CD,

Viaje a un nuevo mundo, what have you created lately besides empty critisizm? It's a shame that there is such a culture of jealousy and nastiness in the flamenco world.
