My kindergarten teacher grew grapes, and was a bee keeper. She kept the bees to pollinate the grape flowers. She would bring in the best concord grapes I ever had in my life. I would love to keep bees :)

My bees are all a bit agro. some more than others. My handicam's had it, so I'll be a while with new uploads. I'll do a couple of videos up close & personal with the bees when I get organised. Father Adam certainly know his stuff! It is amazing to see a man so at ease in a situation which would scare the socks of most of us. Very relaxing to watch - especially as I am not the one in only shorts!

Buckfast bees are no longer raised at Buckfast Abbey - they haven't used Bro Adam's methods for at least 5 years - so these must have come from a breeder probably in Belgium, Germany or Denmark. Buckies are lovely bees - as long as the strain in maintained - but like any 'pure strain' bee, if they cross out with random mongrels you can get some very nasty bees from the crossed queen.

He is saying that the two most famous beekeepers were brother Adam from the Buckafast monastry and Aristote. He said that Aristote believed that royal Jelly could prolonge life. Also he explains that Aristote believed in metapsychose which is reincarnation and he reckon that becoming a bee was the last stage of reincarnation before becoming a perfect soul.

He is French but Buckfast monastery is in England and they make wine there too and Scottish kids drink it by the bucket load. It's a real problem up there. Just google it and you'll get all the info you need.

It might be called Buckfast Abbey, not sure but it's in England. Unless they have a few by the same name.....there could be one in France too, I suppose.
