@xHypothermiax make sure u want to do the swap first cuz honestly its gonna run ya 1k if you do all the labor your self like i did...but i later found out thant it would of bene easier to get a stang w/ split port i had have a 97 single prt v6 and i want a split port 5 spd manula so im trying to save for a 99-04 6er...bttom line just make sure u dont have othere options
hey i have an o/r h-pipe, no cats, and i ordered some long tube headers and slp resonators. do you thinK it will sound anything liKe yours? or do you thinK it will sound good?
yea the h pipe is for off road use meaning its not street legal without the cats. also i later found out i had exhaust escaping the egr connection and its much deeper and throughtier
if you were going for performance you should have went with magnaflow. They sound alot better than LM's on v6's IMO. You should have kept the cats on too, your losing low end torque that v6 sorely need.
But in all honesty, if it makes you happy, then drive it up. I personally don't like the raspiness ricer effect it produces. I am currently serving in the United States Coast Guard and I will see if I can get home over President's weekend to fire up my car with (keep in mind) my $60 digital camera from walmart.
ok look, maybe, you should have done some research before you swapped exhausts. I put the SLP LM1 on my mustang because i went for the loud and mostly obnoxious sound that it creates which on my car is a loud grumble because of everything else that I did to the car. You would know that on a V6 mustang, it is an even firing engine which in turn means, you lose any backpressure at all, it WILL kill your torque curve. Basically, the SLP LM 1 set-up is straight pipes.
If you knew anything about cars you would realize that my exhaust setup is based on high flow. I'm not going for sound but everyone who has heard my stang in person agrees it kicks ass. And some V8 mustang owners too. anyway. this setup relieved a lot of restrictive power robbers while retaining good back pressure. anyway im happy with my decision and this gives people an idea what slps sound like on a v6 stang.
thank you all for your words off encouragement. Make sure to point out if i spelled anything wrong and get some camaro drivers to tell me how shitty mustangs are and to get a real car. Seriously people get a life.
you know, most of the time, I credit a crappy exhaust sound to the camera but, I have the SLP LM 1s on my 01 6er and they sound nothing as bad as what you got. Shoot that car and put it out of its misery...
I can't tell the difference between the crappy V6 ricer exhaust or the groans of the person driving the car......
And 85mph in a 30mph zone....you're cool!

I thought that sounded pretty good actually. I'm debating between Flowmaster and SLP LM catbacks after I also put on the Mac LTs and Mac O/R H pipe.
