  • this works on toast 10 also. i found that it helps to have specific SD cards for set cameras ie. i make sure (now) i only use 2 specific SD cards for the Sony AVCHD camcorder and 2 SD cards i use only with my digital camera.

I found out that by swapping them round, somehow they got formatted or mixed up so that i was unable to import directly to imovie.

just a tip :) try to not mix SD cards between AVCHD cams and digital cameras. It seems to confuse the system.

toast is always my backup :)

  • kewl, I thought that only Toast 10 pro could do that.

  • You Rock Man!!! Thanks!

  • Thanks

i would like to try this way

  • thanks dude this helped a lot. what kind of conversion do you recommend i use for FCP 6? ive been looking EVERYWHERE for a solution and i finally have one, toast! =)

  • @m4cbeth Toast 10 will work and ElGato's new turbo h.264 stick will work too... I use both.

  • @jhillestad I've got a AVCHD camera that records at 1080p/24P. How fast would the conversion rate be for files like this?

  • ** I HAVE A MACBOOK PRO WITH MAC OS X TIGER, WILL THIS WORK??

    I just bought a Canon HF20

    Thanks

  • you. are. awesome. thanks

  • great! but there is a "decalage" between sound and image...

  • ** UPDATE **

Toast 10 Works too and the NEW ELGATO Turbo 2.64HD stick for mac will also convert mts files directly.

  • Dude I see H 264 / AVC I don't see avchd which is sifferent whether using a Sony Camcorder or a Canon or so on. They do not all use the same avchd format. If you didn't already know this well now you do. Hoe this helps others when they try your advise out and it doesn't work as planned. Thanks... Dam companies are really screwing us with the lack of software support. Pay a grand for a camcorder and you can't use it without buying more software, crazy BS if you ask me.

  • anybody try Toast to convert Canon (e.g. HG20) Camcorder avchd mts' file to standard def? If so, work easily?

  • Works great! Just got my HG20 today :)

  • i want a trial for my mac

  • Gosh! I've been puzzled for about a year! And it turned to be that easy with Toast!

    TNX!!

    upload more ))

  • Great, thanks alot!

  • hey do you know to to convert .rar files because it says it does not support them

  • A .rar file is like a zip file. You just need a program like "Winrar" or "Winzip" to unzip it. But I don't know what type of files were zipped to tell you more.

  • Cinematize PRO will decrypt the video.

  • i have a question about the titanium 9,i just wondering how You're going to decrypt the dvd using this program?or needs to have a dvd dcrypter for mac?if you have known some program to dycryp pls let me know tnx a lot hope u can help me...

  • great help!!!!! THX!!!!

  • Thanks. It would be good to know if Toast as good for AVCHD cameras with hard drives as it is for those with tapes. It does not seem that Toast would be good for my avchd camcorder, my 1.42 ghz Mac G4 won't even acknowledge my SONY AVCHD Hard Drive camera when is is connected.

  • thy for that. How long was your video? i was just thinking it could take far longer when your video is like half an hour or so... and can you convert 4 or 5 clips at the same time?
