thhat was completly unfounded and completly opinion, and that is why i am not effected. in this great country of Amarica we are entitled to have and express our opinions, but please express them to a reasonable level. macs are more then 30% of laptop sales in Amarica. windows ais software and not hardware, dont compare software to hardware, software is cheaper then hardware. dell vs mac=mac, hp vs mac=mac, mac vs hp, dell, sony, toshiba, alianware, compaqe, and gateway= not mac of course!
osx has had voice regognition for years(more then 5) so i think he should stop acting like its brand new, also how come when apple introduces somthing, its a "feater" but when m$ intros something, it a "inovation" even though its something linux and osx have had for years(like search, voice recognition, and trancparency-osx has had trancparency since v10.2 just not as much as vista)
in other words, windows is not more then linux OR windows.
and btw i dont know how ot divide mac by linux :P
but ok. windows can run.... windows apps. mac can run... mac apps..... who would want to run either of them anyway? and if you DID want to run them in the first place, thats why you can run mac and windows apps in linux.
Mac Sucks, Mac is dumb, and is a fucking bullshit. I programmed 7% of Mac. I just did what "someone" told me to do. It ain't my fault. Mac Sucks. I also programmed 9% of Microsoft Windows Vista. Now I have Millions just for typing little less than a million lines of codes!!
The Voice Recognition on Vista is a advanced than OSX. This is said from macusers. Not me. Btw... You don't NEED to use MOUSE GRID. This is a feature to HANDCAPED PEOPLE or people with problems with acessibility.
to the person who said that the mouse grid looks stupid... what if you can't use a mouse... a person without hands??? i think this is for special persons :)
I do agree that speech recognition has already been avaliable for the past years but I believe that these voice recognition software need a very massive marketing force to make it popular.
Seeing to it that Microsoft is the pioneer of latest major operating systems, it is quite a technological advancement for Microsoft to release an all new voice recognition system for Vista.
Surely, more and more people from home users to business users will be aware of this feature.
I've just always thought with all the error reporting back to microsoft I was actually doing the work on the next OS. I mean XP was such a pile of crap its had almost 400 changes to it. Rather than buy XP and do all the downloads they give it a name and resell it as a new OS. Thats the true genius behind Microsoft. imho
One step at a time. Ten years and 500 versions and patches from now it might eliminate the mouse and keyboard all together. But you need to walk before you can learn to run, its the same with the OS. Get people to buy it, get them to tell you whats wrong and fix it, give it a new name and get them to buy it again. The Microsoft company plan never fails so just give the voice reccognition stuff some time.
What they don't say is that the guy needed to "train" the computer to understand him for more than 2 hours.. and it still isn't as perfect as it seems to be in here
Voice recognition might serve as a nice accessibility feature for some users, but for the typical user I do not see how talking is faster or even preferable to using the mouse. If this is the only innovation Vista has to offer, this release seems less significant than xp.
why are people so mean ? ok maybe mac os x is better, but give some credit to vista too ! the voice works fine with some exceptions, OBVIOUSLY it cannot be perfect.
Yeah, if you're impressed by the speech recognition, be sure to watch this video, you may be a little less impressed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5Tp320nyyA

I use OSX myself. DO NOT WANT XP! >_<
As for windows. Windows 2000 >>>>> XP!
XP is NOT the best OS by far. MS just tried to prettyfy everything while killing key features. Vista may even be worse.
