  • I'm using NREdit

  • What ecu software are you using?

  • what oil pump is this forged rb25/30det using.?

  • @makdadyblk I'm using a RB25DET oil pump with crank coller

  • What do most rb30det set timing to????

  • @HR31PASSAGE Are you talking about base timing or timing under boost?Base timing it set to standard 10degrees, under boost it depends on lots of factors compression ratio, fuel, Turbo, boost pressure ect.

I've had people ask me to tune to 20psi(there turbo can't handle it Timing is set to 5 degrees then backed the boost off to 17 psi and advanced the timing to 12 degrees and made more power, the customer liked the power but didn't have the bragging writes to say he's running 20psi

  • is it tru that a fully forged engine will make that tick noise anyways

  • @nuggz4president Forged pistons do rattle a bit when cold but this is just the lifters pumping up.

  • @MCRAutomotive ok cool i thought forged engines do rattle a bit when its cold had a big argument with a mechanic not to long ago he said if it rattles its built wrong what a wanker

  • Sounds like diesel MB :P

  • Hey mate how much would it cost if i got you to make me a rb30det n supplied you with a std rb30 block and series 1 rb25 head. How much all up to get it running in my r32? cheers mate.

  • @tahdz Sorry there's to Meany options to just give you a price, you need to start with how much horse power do you want, how reliable do you want it, i tested how far i could push a stock bottom end with a Chinese turbo, almost 300kw@wheel the clutch couldn't handle any more, i thrashed the *** off it for a few months replaced the turbo as it died, then blow #6 piston, fixed it with a second hand block dropped the boost so it only had 175kw@wheels last i heard the guy i sold it to still runs ok

  • only god knows how bad i want an rb30 block.....damnit!! 1 day... 25 block will hav to do 4 now lol

  • @jhaze918 I wonder how much it would cost to import one from Aus? We have them everywhere.

  • @intheshitter haha you guys are pretty lucky! i had a guy from Aus offer to send me one....but its really not an option for me at this time....im balls deep in a rb25 build

  • @jhaze918~ shut up man, the 25 with mods goes REAL hard!

I wouldnt waste my energy and money on a 30 conversion if i had 25!

  • @marek0086 did you honeslty just tell me to shut up?? lmao 25 is awesome....i love my motor...but lets be real, the 30 block has more capabilities when fully built ...thats all...but my motor isnt full built....so i know i can gain plenty more power when i want....

  • @marek0086 RB25DET engines are great and we build allot of them the main advantage with a RB30DET is torque, this will make the cars acceleration faster with the same peak power

  • are NZ dynos trigger happy or what?

im building an rb30-25 head, mahle pistons, spool rods, king bearings, head stripped mild port/polish, gt35r 1.06r, microtech lt10s etc n all tuners are telling me to expect 500rwhp-550rwhp-one place said 400-420! max

  • @CHARrrrrrrrr I have the same pistons, report back and let me know how the build goes. I'm sourcing my RB30 block now,

  • @S13Sldewayz My pistons are a custom unit from JE pistons would be unlikely you have the same, New engine in a different car My R32 GTS4 is making 317kw at 15 psi again with a To4z, I tried a launch the other day it just spun all four wheels with a 5500rpm dump clutch and full throttle 265/35/18 continentals, i'll need more practice

  • @CHARrrrrrrrr I can only speak for my 4wd dyno it seams to be very repeatable, you will always get different reading from different dyno's, i've found 300kw@wheel is very easy to make from a RB30DET or a RB25DET, but get the correct components and more is not unreasonable

  • Sorry i've not carried with updates, engine was finished and sold (someone with deep pockets turned up and wanted this engine because they could test drive it and see it running. I will have other videos of my other cars soon, I own one R33 GTS4 and two R32 GTS4's all will be RB30DET powered

  • why does it sound like that??That doesnt sound healthy. What are the cams like 280 or higher?

  • @meet07 As stated before this is a Genuine startup, oil has not bleed the lifters yet, cams are custom Greddy 272/10.5 mm lift

  • @MCRAutomotive what does it take to bleed the head? Im all ears now!

  • @meet07 Ran engine for about a minute or less, Lifters bleed perfectly, this engine was finished and sold engine, but not car ( at time of build 3 engines were built identical, one left to be put into customers car, other one for my R32 GTS4.

  • @MCRAutomotive You had to adjust something afterwards...that had time to bleed...

  • @meet07 As i have always stated, genuine startup, cams are custom greddy 272 with 10.5mm lift

  • @MCRAutomotive~ does the SR20 have a roller-STYLE cam profile??

  • it sounds like its running with no oil. i know its not but it just sounds like a vauxhall astra with no oil :P

  • would have thought that airflow meter would be limiting this setup pretty badly?

  • @S14VH45 Yes the standard air flow meter does limits power to around 220kw@ the wheels, we use different air flow meters which eliminate that problem

  • a t04z will easily outflow any nissan afm.

  • @S14VH45 you are correct Nissan air flow meters max out with a TO4Z , other Air flow meters can be used

  • why the 25 head rather than the 26?? just curious

  • @zayres29 The car started life as a RB25DE GTS4, It's not a GTR, if your looking for over 700-800hp then using the GTR(RB26DETT) head is an advantage

  • Im looking for the full version of datascan, all i can find is the demo....

r u able to post the full version somewhere?

  • Buy the unit it comes with fully reg. software, it only cost $150 NZ

  • for you dickheads out there.. the lifters are not bleed up yet... as u know there are 24 of them...and once u recondition a cyclinder head.. u must bleed up the lifters... its the same for ALL lifter cars...e.g rb26s use shim and bucket...it will be quite once hes built up oil pressure and turns the car off... then comes in the next day and wonders why the cars quite az.... im a engine builder... i know these things.. not like you youtube dickheads that watch a few videos

  • Good advertising for your work shop, rb30 specialists and its running like a fiat tractor!

  • lol oil hasnt moved into the lifters yet dumbass

  • any good workshop knows to prime them..... your just a nobody.

  • @markbrown06 Lifters were primed and then the engine sat for about three months, does this just not prove to you that it's a genuine startup, not prepped run tuned and tested.(Mark please be constructive and startup your own workshop and build, instead of criticizing others)

  • @markbrown06 *******Genuine startup*******, not a prepped run tuned tested, then make a video and call it first startup

  • Is this Programme able for sale anywhere. would be very interested in testing this!

  • NRE Edit.

I have not maxed out a Q45 Airflowmeter,

I'm often asked "how much horse power can you get when remapping the original ECU"

I honestly don't know from personal experience.

If i find i can't get 700hp yes i'll think of upgrading, cost isn't an issue.

For most people spending $2000+for a Standalone computer plus Wiring and tuning easily costs $2000.=$4000

So remapping the ECU@ a tuning cost of $800 appeals to a lot of low end modifiers

and there willing to put up with the disadvantages.

  • Not for sale, professional use only.

  • I see what you mean by it appeals to alot of low end modifiers as it does and very simply to tune.

But you say with this cost isnt an issue, I would go the gts g4 link plug in.We seen good gains over running a Q45 Afm and a Mines chipped ecu.Running a map sensor also eliminated the problem of low idle rpm immediately after high Revs

  • The very simple tune?

    G4 rpm increments every 250

NRE edit RPM increment 400 (this can be altered to lower increments.

Using an air flow meter instead of a map sensor gives a finner resolution therefore end result is better economy.

G4 is definitely better than remapping the ECU but the cost is a bit of a setback.

If someone come to me with a bunch of crap from trademe (Turbo, injectors, manifold, intercooler ect) comonly second hand. they do not have the cash for a Link G4

  • What programme are you using there?

are you hoping to get 700hp with a q45 afm?

would be better to go a g4 link wouldnt it considering the money spent on the engine
