  • Sir Richard Branson has his hands in everything. Dude blows my mind.

  • Great video of the London Ambulance Service. Best wishes to all those in the LAS from the FDNY EMS Command.

  • @mcintyre265 Your wrong actually, its owned by LAS and funded by a charity, also sponsored by Virgin. Its operated by civilian pilots, mostly ex-Army/Navy/RAF.

  • @codyworthington Not quite correct. The air ambulance service is run by a charity based at the Royal London Hospital. LAS have no responsibility for the helicopter, but fund paramedics to form the response team dispatched in the helicopter during the day and in the car during the night (the paramedics drive the fast response cars). The helicopter is owned/operated by a private firm and sponsored by Virgin who make a contribution to help cover some aircraft running costs, though not all of them.

  • These are the older vehicles, the Vauxhall, Mercedes, Honda have all been replaced, except the bikes and helicopter everything has been updated, very nice video though, i'm glad to see someone appreciates Britain's Paramedic service

  • putting the annotation of your name isnt going to stop people copying this

  • @UKEScentral i was gonna say the same thing

  • can i just say that HEMS is not london ambulance servise its ran/owned by the RAF

  • isn't that sprinter a little small to be an ambulance i mean a stormtrooper?

  • I think it is because of narrow streets but I am not sure.

  • @paniclego97 How big do you Americans want them to be?

  • @04smallmj big enough to hold a person and keep them alive

  • where's LSU vehicle??

  • Very nice video mate!

  • Is that Sat Nav at 0:56? Blimey.

  • You don't honestly think they know their way round off by heart, do you? o_O

  • @enchantified they will never learn there way round london

  • So, does the cycle response unit come equipped with a box of band-aids, a bottle of aspirin, and smelling salts?

  • No, it carrys a lot of stuff

  • Actually LAS staff are forbidern from using smelling salts =) in all seriousness though, a cycle unit can carry 50KG of life saving stuff, and a highly trained paramedic. Its a very quick way of getting around in London. They are intended to be used in the same way a rapid response motorcycle might be.

  • Were you on a busman's hols, Josh? ;0)

Doesn't matter what part of the country i'm in i hear a siren and wanna know what's running. It takes me a full fortnight to truly switch off.

    Nicely done anyway

  • I like this video

  • Loved the video, great to see units from overseas

  • Great Video Josh :)

    Chris

  • Nice one! I used to work for LAS - Now for YAS!!

  • brilliant video!

    i love LAS's RRVs!

  • thanks

  • its always kinda fun to look at services outside in other countries. That safety checkered-pattern has made it way to the US now, most ambulance are still white, then have the checker pattern on the back and sides. I like it, make you 10 times more vissible day and night.

  • Great Vid
