  • Hello my name is Alexy i write to you from switzerland and i m an alphorn player ,

your alphorn is very nice you can found now in carbon fiber, but you can have a best sound with a simple pipe coolants for garden cut a 3,40m long and a mouthpiece

, and you put a funnel , after you have to work your instrument thats how i have begin,

you can see my videos on the net alphorn emosson best regards

  • I googled PCV alphorn and this came up. Nice job. I am amazed at the cost of a real alphorn. Then again they are all hand crafted. Surprised no one ever produced a starter one out of molded plastic. Anyway great job...

  • Good idea. I was thinking of using increasing diameters of pvc tubing glued together, and then a 45 degree elbow for the bend, but your idea is more economical.

  • @MitchMb14 I played the alphorn when I did a gig with my OktoberFest band last week. The audience reaction was a mixture of "You're a genius" or "You're a nutjob."

  • Well, it kind of sounds like an alp horn, but so far I have only been able to get about three notes clearly. Not sure what you mean by bended...it's just straight PVC tubes except for the elbow at the end.

  • Is it possible to get the same sounds as the wooden ones? does it have to be bended?
