  • wow what an inspiration. would you tell me how much this treatment cost?

  • @zukisai I am so inspired by many that have reach out to me because we have been through the same grueling process with hep c and some with far greater challenges. Thank you for your kind words. I had insurance so my co-pay was 300.00 a month. My friend Peggy got insurance prior to treatment and they accepted her. If you ned this info I will put you in contact with Peggy.

  • im 29 yrs old and ive had hcv for 6 yrs now and i have not tried any help yet.... im scared of what it will do... i could use some one to talk to about everything. if anyone could contact me that would be great. thank you.... jesse wood... wood.jesse.bci@gmail.com

  • Hello love your videos i have hep c, also had liver transplant on 6/3/2011 so its been almost 8 months.. sence transplant the hep c is already killing my new liver, i am in my 2nd week of treatment....you helped me to start thanks!!!!

  • @outlawsmctx So sorry for the delay. I just got back from a post treatment vacation. I am so humbled and inspired by your story. I wish you all the best as you endure treatment. You have endured so much already. Thanks for saying I helped you start. I can not imagine that my videos had that impact. So thank you and go beat this virus!!!!!

  • i had hep c for 30 yrs & got on a 48 week study (peg/interferon & 2 nameless drugs for 24 weeks) on 05/05/11 at duke university medical center & have been hep c negative since 06/01/11... today is 01/16/11.

glad you're doing well & good luck!

  • @turtlesworld i meant today is 01/16/12!

  • @turtlesworld Thank you for your terrific encouragement as well your TERRIFIC success!!! Glad you are doing well.....

  • I must be on week 7.My main problem is sleeping at night,I can't.

  • @okeepam1 Many of us had horrific insomnia and had to get a prescription sleep med. I still use clonazapan and it saved that part of treatment. I hope you find what works for you as well. Sleep is a big part of what makes this treatment doable and I hated the idea of one more med....until I got to sleep. I will taper off later when I feel recovered.

  • @anaisabel365 Thanks for sharing that.I hope your viral remains out of sight.I think mine has cleared, the results aren't in yet.But it was 135 as of 2 weeks ago, down from 14000000 from the start, dec 23.I don't think the sleeping pills help my mood.I have only taken them for two nights, but my mood seems worse for it.It's zolpidem tartrate. The only other thing is I had the dual drug treatment in 2005 and during the drug trails.Cleared for one week only before the treatment ended in 2005.

  • @okeepam1 Let me know when you clear. It is worth it but you are going to feel pretty bad at times. WHEW they practically kill us to kill that damn virus. I am now 41/2 weeks post treatment and I still have a bit to go but I am getting better everyday. Thing are really beginning to feel like I am well on my way to being totally well.

TAKE CARE as best you can.

    Ana

  • @anaisabel365 They just lowered my ribavirin dose because of the anemia, but they said they expected that I had already cleared, wouldn't see it until the lab work gets back.I am handling it ok,but it sure gets monotonous.I think I must be experiencing what you call the thrash(?)Tear up over much about nothing.Wish I had your problem with only 4 weeks to go,rather the next 30 weeks to go.Thanks for staying in touch.

  • i'm truly blessed to find your blog i was terrifed when i found out i was hep c positive and to go through your treatment with your true sharing of real emoitions and feelings i hope you will continue to blog i makes it [doable] for me thank you

  • @Bigswedeee Thank you, this blog really became a place of support for me from our community. It is a nightmare to research hep c treatment!

So I am done, just 10 days from my last meds and 2 weeks from my last interferon injection. I am still in the "throws" of the half life of the meds and can still have side effects but feeling back to life and better with each passing day. Not something I would want to go through again but the long term of hep c can lead to much bigger stuff than treatment.

  • Could you tell me the name of your Doctor. I am in the Houston area and trying to find a doctor that takes care of Hep C.

  • @skelly46 I would say that this doctor was the best ever. When we said goodbye we both cried....who does that as a doctor.

I am happy you asked. If you cannot drive perhaps he can give you a referral

    Dr. Hays Arnold

    Gastroenterology Consult. of San Antonio

  • God bless you. Please include me as one of the people you have inspired and given hope to. My wife will be starting her treatment tomorrow. She's lost a lot of weight over the last year and was finally diagnosed with Hep C recently. Odd how it just now occurred to me to look Hep C up on Youtube. Somehow, so far, I have escaped the virus. OTOH, I feel like I'll be going through this right along side her. Just wanted to thank you for giving me and her some hope.

  • @Sktrtrsh My husband was my greatest support along with my friend Peggy. Things were not always perfect during this stressful time but he worked really hard taking care of me which made this doable. You will not contract the virus. My husbands ex had hep C as well and I made sure before I was done that he was tested...CLEAR. I wish both of you all the best. Your love will prosper and grow from this treatment and you will have a wife that is well.....HAPPY NEW YEAR and please keep me informed.

  • @anaisabel365 Well we just gave her her second shot with the Redipen. She is getting some bad headaches and some minor Flu like symptoms, and the bitter taste, but nothing as severe as what we've heard it could be (yet). She has been rather depressed, but I would say that that's a given with anyone fighting this. And likewise, her ex husband has Hepatitis, but he has Hep B. I don't know if there is any correlation there, but...

  • Hi, I would love to see another video!

  • Hi Ana! Just catching up with things; fiance had to have back surgery while doing this treatment so we're trying to get things back on an even keel after that bump in the road. I've just seen your latest update & wanted to say congrats & thanks again for sharing & being such an inspiration. We are about 6 weeks behind you & my fiance thanks his doc every visit for giving him his life back (@ 16wks he was still undetectable)! Love you and can't wait to hear all about your 24-wk labs! XO

  • @HepCJourney You two are amazing. This treatment is tough as it is and surgery alone is tough. I think about the endurance and capacity we will all have once this is behind us. Labs were all WELL and I am headed out in 31 days clear from this virus. Battling a bit of the blues at times lately but I still have the balance of gratitude and inner strength. Nice to hear from you as I was just thinking of you just a couple of days ago.

  • Ana, thanks for posting your v-logs. I have 2b and am going to start treatment in January. I have probably had the virus for decades and found it during a yearly physical. I am really scared about the treatment, more than anything the unknown is what has me frightened. Thanks for the tip about the probiotics and b vitamins. It is good to see that the treatment is doable and I admire your positive spirit. I hope that you continue to heal.

  • HI ANA ISABEL HOW ARE YOU?..I AM SO DELIGHTED TO KNOW YOU ARE ALMOST DONE WITH YOUR TREATMENT, AND VERY HAPPY TO KNOW THAT YOU INTEND TO KEEP ON POSTING UPDATES, YOU KNOW WHY? BECAUSE I WILL NEED SOME GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT WHEN I START MY TREATMENT( SOMETIME NEXT YEAR) AND WHAT BETTER THAN TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH SOMEONE LIKE YOU...THANKSGIVING IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER SO I HOPE YOU HAVE A LOVELY MEAL WITH THE ONES YOU LOVE....AS ALWAYS , YOU ARE PRESENT ON MY PRAYERS.....CARLOS.

  • @KARTONVERDE Hi Carlos. Thanks again for always touching base. Your support emails have been wonderful and I want to be the same for you as you endure your treatment and free yourself of this burden.

    I am very fortunate.

Yes...I will have a lovely Thanksgiving dinner with my family. So much to be thankful for.

Take care and thank you so much for the prayer.

    Ana

  • So glad to see the new video, and you look very, very healthy. Congratulations on your magnificent health outcome to date. Just a matter of short time before this life experience is behind you... Thanks a million for the support. Thanks for caring about all of us. And thanks for the brilliant, supportive video support system.

  • @fillitout Thanks for your wonderful and kind words. I did these videos to show a different side of treatment. Not focusing on the negative as soooooo many folks do. Treatment is difficult but this is our cure!! Our Freedom!!

As well shorter treatments with higher cure rates. As well so many people are afraid to come forward because this is a totally misunderstood disease. I had no idea I would be so inspired by the many stories or inspire so many.

    Thanks again.

  • you look so good and so glad to see you, you have given me the courage to get the treatment will start in jan. So happy for you and your family.

  • @GypsySue313 Thanks Sue. After the major shock of the medications and accepting my limits to ride out this storm I have found a balance but I live on Advil which is just the way it must be.

Please keep me posted on your start date. I am happy you will be free of this virus who's sole purpose is to slowly take our life in many ways. The weeks before treatment may seem very stressful but walk into that fire and you will find strength you never know you had....but it is there. Take Care.

  • Congratulations beautiful Ana!

Thank you for sharing your journey. This is a wonderfully moving and inspiring video! I need to get started on the probiotics! I somehow forget about those when I am at the market.

    continued success and healing.

    And Happy Thanksgiving!

  • I hope to start treatment soon. I had the same thing happen to me some one in my family died from this too. Thank you for being so positive! It really helps!

  • Thank you touching base with me. It always makes me smile to hear from folks.

  • I'm so glad to hear from you! Thanks so much for sharing your story.
