When the bill was in the Senate and House, only 61% of democrats voted to put the bill on the presidents desk, in contrast 80% of Republicans voted to put it on the presidents desk. Therefore, if it were not for Republicans the bill would not have passed. Proving my point once again.

However, from my college courses, I think they push the Progressive point of view. My niece went to ISU, she is your age and think as you do. I read the book I suggested mid 1998 or 1999, been awhile. Anyhow it is a good read, and she proves that this has happened.

@twincodey Well, once again you need a civics lesson. Congress votes on the bill, then the president signs or veto's the bill (Fact!) look it up, because you evidently don't know how it works. When the bill was in the Senate and House, only 61% of democrats voted to put the bill on the presidents desk, in contrast 80% of Republicans voted to put it on the presidents desk. Therefore, if it were not for Republicans the bill would not have passed. Proving my point once again.

Am I socialist? No. Do I like some of its ideas? Yes. It's like education. So many different methods. Yet there is not one that is correct.

If you have proof of Global Warming, Capitalism failing, or that MLK was not a Republican, Democrat, then no affiliation post it. If not it's just your opinion and it doe not matter. If you do hold a Masters, you know that imperial evidence is paramount, and you have shown none.

@twincodey Amazing, I worked in a factory for almost 13 years before they closed and I went back to school. I find that the Government was the cause for all of our economic problems, since they have waged a war on it for 30 years.
In the 70's we were going to have another Ice age, then in the 90's global warming!?! Tell me that isn't bs. Also, you can say this isn't fact because I lived it, and was told this crap in elementary school. Progressives twist the truth to suit their needs.

There has been countless articles refuting this claim. In fact some European scientists have resigned for doctoring temperature data. @twincodey It was the Democrats who fought to keep blacks in slavery and passed the discriminatory Black Codes and Jim Crow laws. The Democrats started the Ku Klux Klan to lynch and terrorize blacks. The Democrats fought to prevent the passage of every civil rights law beginning with the civil rights laws of the 1860s, and continuing with the civil rights laws of the 1950s and 1960s.

@twincodey During the civil rights era of the 1960s, Dr. King was fighting the Democrats who stood in the school house doors, turned skin-burning fire hoses on blacks and let loose vicious dogs. It was Republican President Dwight Eisenhower who pushed to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1957 and sent troops to Arkansas to desegregate schools. Evidently, you failed your history courses.
