why do people on YouTube have to comment so harshly on perfectly good cooking videos. Each recipe is like a fingerprint, and just because it isn't the same as your recipe that doesn't mean it isn't still delicious.
Napoli is the birthplace of so many dishes we think of as Italian: pizza, parmesan cheese, tomato ragu, spaghetti, lasagna, mozzarella cheese, marinara sauce.
It looks good but it's not, I know you don't have a pizza oven, but don't dip the dough in oil like that.. use flour instead, I live in naples and I have never seen anyone dipping the dough like that, they just flatten it with flour, and they don't season the tomatoes, they just put it and then add olive oil on top, dipping the dough into oil like that is just gross
@yellowsaffron But nobody uses oil to flatten the pizza dough in italy, lol, the more oil the more of a "biscuit" consistence it becomes, if you use oil it just becomes a hrd focaccia
@JoesPlaying We ate it and it didn't come out that way! The oil prevent the pizza from sticking to the baking pan... anyway, it's obvious that this is not the recipe for the true Neapolitan pizza, which tastes a little bit different, since you need a wood oven to cook it, but a good recipe for making the pizza at home!
@yellowsaffron Yes I agree that the oil prevents the pan from sticking.. but at 1:56 you can see it's like 90% oil 10% dough.. XD, but well, whatever as long as it was good :)
@yellowsaffron I made 3 pizzas just today, baking the last one right now. I can tell you I never use oil (except in the dough it self) to spray the pan, I use CORN flour and it absorbs the moisture, which makes the bottom not stick and it has a wonderful crusty layer about 1mm thick and keeps the moisture inside the dough. I can assure you it's really good way. I used the oil before, but this is really better. Cheers!
@markomanius It's a good idea to omit oil in the pan, actually it's the same procedure used to bake bread youtube.com/watch?v=3GjtXd0S6ps, well done!
@marukoshiun Only my recipe work? Closed mind? LOL! I live in the town where we have the best pizza known all around the world, and you tell me I'm a closed mind? Hilarious, I already have to go through all the shitty pizza they serve in fast food, plus, everyone who knows how to make pizza will never flatten it with oil, but with flour and skills, you, are from thailand, don't fucking tell me how to make pizza.
@JoesPlaying u kno this GialloZafferno is Italian food channel and they have made many good dishes. What they did was worked. I don't think the way they make is wrong. I have followed their recipe and guess what? it worked fantastic. Hilarious, who said ppl from thailand can't make pizza? It's 2011 and pizza had taken all over the world. And guess what? I can make a pizza and it tastes good jus the way it is.
@JoesPlaying and if you bother to reply, jus wanna remind you that i don't reply you back cos its jus silly of you criticized on such a good channel. Piece of advice, make you own fucking channel first and see how ppl react.

@hellheavenzzz You can use any cheese you like on the pizza! With regard to the tomato slices, you can add them whenever you want: at the beginning, if you want them to be cooked and hot, or on the contrary, at the end if you want to taste them fresh.

If more than 50% of something correlates with a given characteristic then you can form a pretty solid generalization using "most." Why would you try to argue health with a med student?
@chocho220 and the real LOL should be about your weird respect for someone that proclaims himself as a "med student". First of all, it's probably bullshit...Secondly, even if true, SO FUCKING WHAT? Are med students nutritionalist experts...you're making it seem like they are not fallable...he's a fucking student, he's not a genius...he may know some about the topic, but that doesn't mean this opinion trumps mine...AND THAT'S WHAT THIS IS, A MATTER OF OPINION! "HEALTHY" CAN BE A SUBJECTIVE TERM
@chocho220 Because can be healthy depending on how it's made, and give you more nutrition than just broccoli....don't be a twit. The amount of oil used here is definitely off-putting, but no one said you had to use that much oil.
@dvinb12345 Wow, pizza is not healthy. It can be healthier than it is at dominos or papa john's but it cannot be "healthy." Broccoli is healthy, salmon is healthy, pizza is not healthy. If you don't put cheese then it's not really a pizza. An individual isn't a "twit" because they have a perspective that effectively counters your own. Eating olive oil is more healthy than having pizza. Pizza has incredibly high amounts of fat and sodium. If pizza was healthy America would be fit and healthy.
@chocho220 Comparing homemade pizza to Dominos or Papa John's should be a sin. That is pretty much fast food. No fast food is healthy, I don't care what it is. They can make fast food out of carrots and peas and make it incredibly unhealthy. There is nothing essentially unhealthy about a well prepared pizza. You don't have to eat half the pizza, either, or eat it every day. I don't think what constitutes as healthy for most people does for you, though...
@dvinb12345 I'm using a basic understanding of healthy. Homemade pizza is packed with sodium and saturated fats. There are many other things that can be eaten that are much healthier. The fact that you have to say it should be eaten in moderation speaks for itself. That's enough on this matter. It's nothing worth discussing any further.
@lovelyjennx i read all your discussion with the other guy and you are both right on some things but wrong on others, so please stop offending each other XD it's senseless
@lovelyjennx i read all your discussion with the other guy and you are both right on some things but wrong on others, so please stop offending each other XD it's senseless
@MurphGiovanni i read all your discussion with the other guy and you are both right on some things but wrong on others, so please stop offending each other XD it's senseless
The oil is to make sure the crust gets crispy in a home oven. Pizzas in a restaurant are being cooked in an oven that gets almost twice as hot as the 480 F temp she cooked her pizza at, so they don't require oil other than what is in the dough. If you didn't oil the pan like that the bottom of the pizza would be soggy. I love this sites videos, and appreciate the English translation. I do like to try and understand the Italian first though!
yum!..@CyprusHotels dude..this is just homemade..its modified to people to make a simple margarita pizza..its up to you if you wanna make ur pizza oily or not..im a chef also and im also working at an italian restaurant..n i believe that u cant do nothin wrong with pizza..its ol just up to you!
It's so funny that people try to explain how to make a pizza to italians LOL
Actually this is an homemade pizza margherita, you need to use that much oil to make it at home, especially if you have electric oven... and that's not "cheese" like american cheese, that's mozzarella, for 100 gr. has just 230 calories.
Pizza is a complete dish, in Italia we eat one of those and stop, that's why pizza is not considered junk food in my country.
@Bigsnake210 mozzarella is a fatty cheese though, but i can't imagine eating cheese in a can like americans! yuck!! i thought my fellow scots had bad diets...
I don't know much about the Scottish diet, but i heard that the old diet is quite healty, rich of fishes like salmons and typical dishes like the scotch broth =)
@Bigsnake210 yeah thats very true, but here its rare to find people eating good, healthy scottish food. its more microwave meals that people eat rather than fish and chips and deep fried mars bars. some might say that the art of cooking food is dying here, people are "too busy" to eat properly.
@DaemonTFO Ha Ha Ha from India, thats a load of bull, its from naples, it was a poor persons dish. lol find the facts to back up your statement or don't bother posting.
@furion1234 "Don't go tell Italians pizza is from India, or they will send the mob on you." Much of the ingredients came from india, and the style of flat bread was borrowed from india, but the creation/ baking process originated in Greece as a method to make a poor mans meal. The word pizza is greek/italian, the root for 'mixture' like a mag pies nest, so they would throw whatever ingredients they had together. In the 1400's pizza was first popularized by Raphael Esponito!
@Bigsnake210 I'm not sure what you think we do in the US but we also eat a pizza and then stop. It's still fast food because it's fattening. Mozzarella is fattening. Also, some people prefer not to have so much oil on their pizza. There's nothing wrong with that.
@itwillbealright so, by your definition, anything that is fattening is considered "fast food"? i doubt that's what you meant, but that is what you said...quality pizza is not fast food or junk food...sure, pizza from domino's which is like an american processed pizza-flavored snack is bad for you...but pizza at a decent italian restaurant, with fresh ingredients, made by an actual italian chef is healthy
also, olive is oil is good for you...it's not like vegetable oil or grease...
@MurphGiovanni Yea, I meant junk food. Although most fast food is fattening so it's junk food. Don't tell me pizza is healthy. Mozzarella (fresh) is very high in sodium, fat, and calories. The carbs create intense spikes in blood sugar. The only reason you can feel better about restaurant quality pizza over "dominos" pizza is because they are more willing to use fresh ingredients. A pizza packs quite a punch when it comes to calories, fat (saturated fat), and sodium. Bottom line: moderation.
@itwillbealright tomatoes are very healthy...they have vitamins and lycopene which helps prevent cancer...as far as the other items you've mentioned...sure you're right...but, aside from a plain salad, i can pick apart just about any meal and find unhealthy qualities about it...and there are many variations of pizza that are generally healthy...whole wheat pizza, light cheese, and grilled chicken is pretty healthy...so you can't fairly generalize about every form of pizza
@MurphGiovanni Of course you can "pick apart" any meal but to be fair I was assuming that "healthy" is a meal in which the benefits outweigh the detriments. Even if you change the crust to whole wheat, even if you add grilled chicken, and light cheese, there's no denying the fact that you can receive those nutrients from other healthier dishes that include those ingredients. Right? I understand you want to be right but a pizza should be eaten occasionally because it is fattening.
@itwillbealright yeah, i agree...it should be eaten only occasionally...even a very lean steak should only be eaten once in a while bc too much red meat is unhealthy...it just comes down to perception...i used to be real unhealthy and eat lots of tacos and cheeseburgers...so to me, pizza is kind of a healthy alternative...some pizza...not all
@MurphGiovanni Very few pieces of mozzarella, whole wheat crust (so that you feel full faster for longer and eat less), can be generous with the tomato sauce. That's the only way you can even remotely think about saying "healthy" with pizza. Also, healthy is not really subjective if you say that healthy means the benefits outweigh the detriments. In your case the best we can do is say "relatively healthy to what you used to eat." Red meat? True. Chicken and fish all the time. Never overeat.
@itwillbealright this discussion is so uninteresting to me at this point...and healthy IS always subjective because even your notions of "benefits" and "detriments" ARE subjective...to a weightlifter, excess carbs can be beneficial...to a swimmer who needs to stay trim, excess carbs can be detrimental...just one example there
AND too much fish can cause very unhealthy levels of mercury in the blood
@MurphGiovanni Healthy is not subjective because we have standards. To a weightlifter the right amount of carbs is beneficial, not in excess. Swimmers also need a good amount of carbs for energy. Now you're confusing calories for nutrients. Too much of the wrong fish, but I never said eat too much fish, I said you can eat it all the time. You're arguing with a medical student. Why? That's beyond me. If it helps you feel better to think pizza is healthy then feel free but it's not. Take care.
@Bigsnake210 That did strike me as being too much oil at first. If I use that much, my dough tears easily. However it's true, in an electric oven that olive oil is basically necessary - not just for taste but to make everything cook at about the right time as I just recently learned. Otherwise the dough ends up taking 20 minutes to bake, while the toppings are done in about 7 to 10 minutes.
I'm surprised her cheese isn't burned if it was in there for 20 minutes.
@howsaboutno Sono italiano pure io ovviamente, visto che tutti fanno gli esperti ho scritto quel commento =) a meno che tu non sia italo-americano o qualcosa del genere.
@D4raw many pizzas are like this in europe, they are different than north american and more thinner and healthier unless you got to the us pizza chains there like piiza hut (lol sounds like an oxymoron= healthy pizza) anyways pizza is delish!!! :)
@D4raw It's absolutely NOT a joke pizza...the simplest way is the most delicious...I'm italian and I can assure you that pizza margherita is made in the way the video explains!! You don't need to put too much stuff on the pizza!
My grandmother from italy makes her pizza exactly like how this one is made. It may look like alot of oil on the dough, however it is needed to make sure it doesnt dry out and doesnt stick to the pan. It tastes unbelievable!

My suggestion is to add around 1/2 to 1 cup of oil to the pizza after is done cooking..
Maybe try some different types of oil. Vegetable oil, or deep sea oil, for example.

I don't think what constitutes as healthy for most people does for you, though...
dvinb12345 1 year ago
@dvinb12345 I'm using a basic understanding of healthy. Homemade pizza is packed with sodium and saturated fats. There are many other things that can be eaten that are much healthier. The fact that you have to say it should be eaten in moderation speaks for itself. That's enough on this matter. It's nothing worth discussing any further.

"there is too much oil" lol...
Bigsnake210 1 year ago 76
@Bigsnake210 mozzarella is a fatty cheese though, but i can't imagine eating cheese in a can like americans! yuck!! i thought my fellow scots had bad diets...
stuartandtheavenue93 1 year ago
@stuartandtheavenue93 ahahah i agree about eating cheese in a can xD
I don't know much about the Scottish diet, but i heard that the old diet is quite healty, rich of fishes like salmons and typical dishes like the scotch broth =)
Bigsnake210 1 year ago
@Bigsnake210 yeah thats very true, but here its rare to find people eating good, healthy scottish food. its more microwave meals that people eat rather than fish and chips and deep fried mars bars. some might say that the art of cooking food is dying here, people are "too busy" to eat properly.
stuartandtheavenue93 1 year ago
@Bigsnake210 In your country. SO you're italian. Then remember this. Pizza comes from india :D
DaemonTFO 1 year ago
@DaemonTFO Ha Ha Ha from India, thats a load of bull, its from naples, it was a poor persons dish. lol find the facts to back up your statement or don't bother posting.
furion1234 1 year ago
@furion1234 "Don't go tell Italians pizza is from India, or they will send the mob on you." Much of the ingredients came from india, and the style of flat bread was borrowed from india, but the creation/ baking process originated in Greece as a method to make a poor mans meal. The word pizza is greek/italian, the root for 'mixture' like a mag pies nest, so they would throw whatever ingredients they had together. In the 1400's pizza was first popularized by Raphael Esponito!
PWNED! -_-

@Bigsnake210 I'm not sure what you think we do in the US but we also eat a pizza and then stop. It's still fast food because it's fattening. Mozzarella is fattening. Also, some people prefer not to have so much oil on their pizza. There's nothing wrong with that.
itwillbealright 1 year ago
@itwillbealright so, by your definition, anything that is fattening is considered "fast food"? i doubt that's what you meant, but that is what you said...quality pizza is not fast food or junk food...sure, pizza from domino's which is like an american processed pizza-flavored snack is bad for you...but pizza at a decent italian restaurant, with fresh ingredients, made by an actual italian chef is healthy
also, olive is oil is good for you...it's not like vegetable oil or grease...
MurphGiovanni 1 year ago
@MurphGiovanni Yea, I meant junk food. Although most fast food is fattening so it's junk food. Don't tell me pizza is healthy. Mozzarella (fresh) is very high in sodium, fat, and calories. The carbs create intense spikes in blood sugar. The only reason you can feel better about restaurant quality pizza over "dominos" pizza is because they are more willing to use fresh ingredients. A pizza packs quite a punch when it comes to calories, fat (saturated fat), and sodium. Bottom line: moderation.
itwillbealright 1 year ago
@itwillbealright tomatoes are very healthy...they have vitamins and lycopene which helps prevent cancer...as far as the other items you've mentioned...sure you're right...but, aside from a plain salad, i can pick apart just about any meal and find unhealthy qualities about it...and there are many variations of pizza that are generally healthy...whole wheat pizza, light cheese, and grilled chicken is pretty healthy...so you can't fairly generalize about every form of pizza
MurphGiovanni 1 year ago
@MurphGiovanni Of course you can "pick apart" any meal but to be fair I was assuming that "healthy" is a meal in which the benefits outweigh the detriments. Even if you change the crust to whole wheat, even if you add grilled chicken, and light cheese, there's no denying the fact that you can receive those nutrients from other healthier dishes that include those ingredients. Right? I understand you want to be right but a pizza should be eaten occasionally because it is fattening.
itwillbealright 1 year ago
@itwillbealright yeah, i agree...it should be eaten only occasionally...even a very lean steak should only be eaten once in a while bc too much red meat is unhealthy...it just comes down to perception...i used to be real unhealthy and eat lots of tacos and cheeseburgers...so to me, pizza is kind of a healthy alternative...some pizza...not all
MurphGiovanni 1 year ago
@MurphGiovanni Very few pieces of mozzarella, whole wheat crust (so that you feel full faster for longer and eat less), can be generous with the tomato sauce. That's the only way you can even remotely think about saying "healthy" with pizza. Also, healthy is not really subjective if you say that healthy means the benefits outweigh the detriments. In your case the best we can do is say "relatively healthy to what you used to eat." Red meat? True. Chicken and fish all the time. Never overeat.
itwillbealright 1 year ago
@itwillbealright this discussion is so uninteresting to me at this point...and healthy IS always subjective because even your notions of "benefits" and "detriments" ARE subjective...to a weightlifter, excess carbs can be beneficial...to a swimmer who needs to stay trim, excess carbs can be detrimental...just one example there
AND too much fish can cause very unhealthy levels of mercury in the blood
MurphGiovanni 1 year ago
@MurphGiovanni Healthy is not subjective because we have standards. To a weightlifter the right amount of carbs is beneficial, not in excess. Swimmers also need a good amount of carbs for energy. Now you're confusing calories for nutrients. Too much of the wrong fish, but I never said eat too much fish, I said you can eat it all the time. You're arguing with a medical student. Why? That's beyond me. If it helps you feel better to think pizza is healthy then feel free but it's not. Take care.
itwillbealright 1 year ago
@Bigsnake210 yes!! i totally agree! especially with the oil quantity!!
PlochpReborn 1 year ago
@Bigsnake210 That did strike me as being too much oil at first. If I use that much, my dough tears easily. However it's true, in an electric oven that olive oil is basically necessary - not just for taste but to make everything cook at about the right time as I just recently learned. Otherwise the dough ends up taking 20 minutes to bake, while the toppings are done in about 7 to 10 minutes.
I'm surprised her cheese isn't burned if it was in there for 20 minutes.
