You could try to use a punch or chisel to knock the ring inwards, moving around in a circle. This is no guarantee, but should produce decent results if done carefully. The best tool is the Motion Pro lock ring retainer remover. If you are referring to just the outside bearing race (if the old bearing is broke) then use a heat gun to get the hub warm and try to push it out from the opposite side. Hope this helps.
