Wow! What a disjointed and pointless video. What points do you think you score, other than with those who already have their minds made up that liberals are bad. Quite the example of the right's thought process ~ muddled, schizophrenic, and childish. Precisely at what point did you prove that Mediamatters is "making stuff up"?
So let me get this right, the only racism involved in the Willie Horton ad was from Al Gore? I guess if you admire FOX and Rush, then your logical faculties are as contemptible. So Dukakis is a lunatic, what proof does a right wing blowhard who is also a creationist has to back up that juvenile smear? Also, while we can all disagree with Rev. Wright, when did Wright ever say that blacks are superior & whites should be subjugated, by them? Yet this twerp has the gall to cry about racism smears?
Van Jones admitted to be a communist when he was younger.... so. His job was about green jobs. Wot does it matter if he was a communist or, for the sake of argument, was still a communist. Last point, the thing about Van Jones being a truther had been disproven, unless you have evidence to the contrary?
And what about Faux News's Huckaberry allowing a prisoner, given a life sentence by the courts, to go free on a pardon. He then killed four police officers in Washington... can't remember that one I guess... too recent?
Very poor job of contradicting MM's claim that fox is not news - its a 24/7 political operation that OVER uses race baiting - AND - that they make things up when the facts cant support their narrative.
Cons cant admit it, so they have to avoid commenting on how they know its significant if the president of a news media has history of partisan opinion.. But ailes goes beyond that disqualifier - there has never been one who's job position was the communications propagandist for his party..
Van Jones is not a communist. Here is a quote from the same book Beck quoted but you will never find on his show.
The reality is that we are entering an era during which our very survival will demand invention and innovation on a scale never before seen in the history of human civilization. Only the business community has the requisite skills, experience, and capital to meet that need. On that score, neither the government nor the nonprofit and voluntary sectors can compete, not even remotely.
first off, van jones was not a 9/11 truther. he signed a petition that stated the bush administration had knowledge about attacks in the united states and didn't do enough to thwart it. according to the august 6th, 2001, PDB that president bush received, this is true. and second, when anita dunn stated that mao zedong was one of her favorite philosophers, she said mother theresa also was, therefore, meaning it in the form of a joke, hence the crowd laughing. did media matters make that up? no.
Love the conservatives posting is videos like these: "liberals suck" "bitch" "communists"... delightful. Can you imagine what real and respectable conservatives would think of these argumentation skills? Poor William Buckley.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Great job as always lee! And I can see by all the negative attacks below that school was let out early. More proof that liberals are brainless, brainwashed and braindead. RACIST! RACIST! WHAAA!!!! They shouldn't even be allowed to vote They are so uneducated and so stupid.
If liberals weren't aloud to vote, this country would be run by crazy conservatives like Glenn Beck or Sarah Palin. The thought of that makes me quiver.
You're right, no one is making me watch Fox News because I don't watch it. And no shit the government can't produce money out of thin air, that's not even an argument. All I'm saying is that you can't possibly be calling Sarah Palin educated or smart.
Yet you want the government to tell you what to do, you considered Sarah Palin uneducated and not smart just because she's a republican or because she wont kill her retarded baby. That and because she doesn't read a specific newspaper.
Neither do I. I get my news from the internet from different areas not from the New york Nazi times or these or dinosaur rags.
1. When did I ever say that I want the government to tell me what to do?
2. I consider Sarah Palin not smart not because of her party, but instead because of the things she says. She came up with death panels. She refused to prepare for the Katie Couric interview and the VP debate.
3. I don't know where your "retarded baby" thing came from. That's simply not true and completely outrageous.
2. Sarah Palin has every right ot be concerned. In nazi Germany, such panels were formed against children with disabilities.
3. Most of the liberals I have run across told me they hate her because a. she hunts moose, b. her son is disabled and she didn't abort it. c. she opposed Obama or whatever.
4. Palin has comeunder attack more in 1 day than Obama throughout the campaign by the left wing media.
2. That's because Nazi Germany was run by a fucking mass murderer who killed millions of people! How dare you compare (or Palin) today's government to that of Nazi Germany.
3. Those liberals are on the fringe. No one respects people who make stupid arguments like those guys.
4. Palin came under attack for the pure substance in her interview with Couric. Many started to question her intellect, including Katie Couric herself.
5. Well at least we can agree that the internet is the best source for news. ALL mainstream media can be shaky.
6. Please quote this statement I made about Fox. That's right, you can't because I didn't make it. All I said was "It makes me quiver just thinking of crazy conservatives like Beck and Palin running this country. You were the first to bring up Fox.
7. Oh, okay. Just wondering, what's a good example of "dinosaur media?" Please be able to name a newspaper unlike Sarah Palin...
4. It's not that I don't like her because she doesn't read a specific newspaper, I'm just pointing out how unprepared she was for the Couric interview. She couldn't name a newspaper, supreme court case, or even answer a question about Hamas.
5. I get my news from the internet too.
6. Just to quote an immature argument you made earlier, "No one is making you read the New york Nazi times dildo." There you go with the typical "Liberals are nazis" talking point.
You cannot compare a gaff with repeated nonsense. Even with this new healthcare bill, which basically gives 30 million people to the insurance industries, Michelle Bachmann still claims that Obama is "nationalizing" insurance and that this bill is "government takeover."
ok, whatever you say a gaffe, I can't get a grasp on the talking points of the president how can you insure 30 million more people and lower costs and give better care? seems to me that it will increase costs and ration care anyone with a common knowledge of simple 4th grade math can see that, but I digress.. if it's not nationalizing then why a 2700 page bill ? this bill is to get the foot in the door and trust me they will get there eventually thats why they call themselves progressives.
Look, I'm no healthcare expert my an stretch of the imagination, but the Congressional Budget Office said 2 days ago that this exact bill will reduce the deficit by $138 billion. Sounds good right? And as for the size of the bill, the number of pages doesn't determine whether it's nationalized or not. Because there's no public option, healthcare isn't being nationalized. And just wondering, what do you mean by "foot in the door"?
@swimmerdude117 what I mean by "foot in the door:" is just that.. pelosi and her crew will not by any means stop with this bill, once passed then they will keep on tweeking it until there is no such thing as health insurance companies.. they will be phased out and then you will have no chioce but to make a public option.. it's nationalized already, trust me.. if they can force EVERYONE to buy health ins. then it's unconstitutional and nationalized.. whatever, you have your opinion I have mine..
Yes, you're right we have our own opinions. But I'm not sure that you fully understand what people are debating on for this bill. The public option would create a government-run OPTION. Any American could CHOOSE between this system and the insurance companies, depending on price and/or quality. But you're also right that there shouldn't be a mandate where people are forced to buy insurance. Don't worry, this bill is Constitutional and will save us money.
@swimmerdude117 Now that' we're three ish months down the road, how much money is this bill going to save now? And no, forcing people to purchase health insurance isn't anywhere in the constitution.
Why do you need a magnifying glass to see THE 'N' WORD in that statement.....He has no reason to use that word. Thats derais this video from the start.
Its clear your brainwashed by Fixed News, I get my News from CBS NBC and ABC and CNN. Fox thinks that the"mainstream media" such as CBS NBC AND ABC are bias. So its FOX agains the world? Yeah right. Bush was in Office for 8years. So what happened to the media bias then? Why was Bush a 'republican' in office if the media has been bias for years? Do some more research please before going public with crap. Beck former alcaholic..Rush former drug addict. You get you news from who them? NICE!
Murdoch does agree with beck on the obama racist stuff. Thats not a lie. He also admits on shaping an agenda to the republicans. What planet are you living on? Are some type of $ientologist? lol!!!!!
Yea...judge Sotamayor...A real "radical". Would you quit with the talking points for one second and actually state facts? The bitch is ANTI-abortion. And who cares whether she said she can give a latina perspective. We get the rich white guy perspective all the time...everyday, every hour, at every turn. Just walk out your front door right now and tell me those corporate views don't represent the rich white culture. From every car, to every church on every block, etc... Get real...
I like Rush Limbaugh, he tells things like they are and doesn't try to sugar coat everything to make everyone like him. I like people that are outspoken about how government in general is screwing up this country.
Anita Dunn's comment on Mao, was taken out of context by Glenn Beck who did not realize she was joking when she said it to the high schoolers. The actual clip of her speaking clearly depicts all who got the joke laughing. this guy likes to "make stuff up" just the same. he's no different than media matters!
I saw the entire clip.... I guess she could have been joking, but I couldn't get past her awkward speech, tongue thrusting, and general mannerisms. Wasn't really appropriate or funny. Not sure how 17 year olds get the joke.
I do not disagree with you. It definitely could have been overlooked by some in attendance. However, the point being made was not with the appropriateness of her joke, but rather the truthfullness of a video that attempts to depict Dunn's comment as true belief, when it cleary was not.
If you turn to foxnews, you can see him talking himself into a whole all the time. and I doubt fox edits it to make him sound worse. He should just watch his mouth.
Oh my god why cant any of these republicans understand Anita Dunn was joking. For christs sake she was smiling while telling the joke and the kids were laughing! She got the joke from a republican! And the only real reason people hate van jones is because he called republicans assholes.
You have to wonder how this neo-con keeps his job at the libertarian Bureaucrash. I mean, have they seen this guy genuflect and make excuses for every big-government, militarist conservative around?
Sorry, dr71956, but when you act like a child, then I am going to call you a child. You may make all the assertions you want, but you know as well as I do that you have no rational basis - that is why you must talk about "you and people like you" though you clearly have no idea who I am to begin with.
Anyway, I will now leave you to your willful ignorance, and perhaps I can find somebody who is willing to have a rational conversation because you are clearly incapable of this feat.
Did I not just defend Bush? So, I think your hypothesis fails.
Listen, I understand it's easier for you to wrap your head around a discussion when you can fit people into categories (liberal vs conservative, in this case), but that's not how the world works - and I don't fit into the category which you want to shove me into.
If you're going to continue acting like a child, then I see no reason to continue this discussion. So, I ask you, are you capable of having an adult conversation?
dr71956, please refrain from making assumptions about my political stance. In fact, there are plenty of things I would openly criticize Obama for, and I do not appreciate your attempt to place me into a category.
Secondly,"you fight your war, I'll fight mine" is a good quote. Why does it matter who it came from? She was speaking to a room of 18-year-old. I see no need to hide them from the world, as you seem to suggest.
She quoted Mao? Wow, that must mean she's a communist. It couldn't just be that Mao had some good quotes. I mean, that's why John McCain and Newt Gingrich have quoted Mao in the past - because they're communists!
/sarcasm
Seriously, just because Mao was a really bad guy doesn't mean that everything he said is completely devoid of useful content.
Hell, Metropolis was rumored to be one of Hitler's favorite moves, and you know what? I like that movie too. What does it matter?
Rush Limbaugh is obviously very comfortable on the radio, but less comfortable in front of a camera. Would you bet your life that you're right thinking he was run off of TV? The guy has millions of listeners.
If he's afraid to be on camera, it shouldn't make too much of a difference to be filmed at his house. A person's home isn't too different from a studio (if comfort is an issue). Especially since he has a lot of friends at FOX. This is especially true since their commentators almost always agree with Rush and never ask him any difficult questions.
Here's a real example: When Bush said something along the lines of, "if this was a dictatorship, it would be a lot easier - as long as I was the dictator," he was clearly being facetious. People on the left, however, tried to paint it as a serious statement.
Same thing is happening with Dunn's comment. She was clearly being facetious, but Beck and co. are trying to distort the intention of the statement to push a political agenda.
I find your arguement with dr interesting. I also find Anita Dunn's attacks on Fox News equally interesting. I disagree that her comment was made in gest for 2 reasons. #1, the laughs didn't come until she made the "two not often paired together" comment. And after delivering the punchline, she went on to say "but the two people, I turn to the most..."
Yeah, Beck and Co. keep cutting the quote off at "the two people I turn to most . . ." (making it sound as though she turns to them most in general), when in reality she said, "the two people I turn to most in order to deliver a simple point."
I could just as easily say, "Hitler is the guy I turn to most to point out that mustaches are stupid" or "Bush is the person I turn to most in order to show that you don't need straight As to be president," and you could similarly mine the quote.
I heard the entire speech. It's just my opinion. I wasn't trying to sway your opinion. Quite frankly, I wouldn't use Hitler to make a point, but again, that's just me.
Mao and Teresa are an ironic pairing. I don't think anybody that knows of these two people wouldn't agree with that. Dunn clearly realizes the irony in their pairing, and so did her audience - as they audibly laughed. The statement that Mao and Teresa were her two favorite political philosophers was clearly facetious.
I openly challenge anybody to argue that the pairing of the two was not meant to be ironic. I've seen it attempted, and the results are quite pathetic.
Whether or not Mao was the greatest murderer the world has ever known, which sounds a lot like opinion, doesn't render his philosophies null and void.
I'm not defending Mao, or even agreeing with his contributions to human thought, I'm just pointing out that you didn't really make an argument. You associated members of the white house with murder.
this is such a joke, all you did was take their statements and say that they were actually important (fox's position) instead of agreeing that fox was racebaiting and lying all along when they promoted this crap. Look everybody and anybody knows that fox lies and is totally biased.
watch the video, jon stewart destroys fox and youwill get a good laugh out of it.
....are those the same weak minded idiots that fell for Obama's every word and voted for child to ruin, sorry, run the most powerful country in the world.....right into the dirt?
Get a life idiot, the Fox/Bush/Cheney blame train left he depot 363 days ago.
So when Bush was your President, you didn't support him - but now that Obama is President and I don't support him I'm a racist and you think it's logical to blame everything on Bush. I guess if I lived my life looking into the past I'd be a total failure at life just like you, and most liberals are.
I guess NJ & VA's new Republican Governors didn't get the Obama message - and neither to sane minded citizens.
If you think the "blame train" left 363 days ago, why don't you ask the family of someone who lost a loved one in Iraq? We still blame them and will continue to.
There's one thing I don't understand. Because she likes Mao's philosphy dosen't mean she approves of the shitty stuff hes done? I just don't understand that. Let's say Hitler was at making drawings, and I say my favourit paint artist is Hitler, dosen't mean i approve of his action. I only like his drawings...
anyway...your logic is infected with liberalitis. She said Mao was one of her favorite political philosophers - so she is a fan of everything that he did under his political philosophy. Including murdering millions of people. A better Hitler analogy would be you saying that your favorite painting in the world is one that Hitler drew of himself stuffing Jews in an oven.
I do not know who pays you, but your anally frustrated rant is just moving air around and with baseless, unfounded, poorly researched data, you only seem to seek love from the bright and educated Fox audience.
who pays you who pays you ????? waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh waaahhhhhhhhhhh I'm a fucking crybaby liberal. Anyone who doesn't want thier lives run by a nany-state government must be on someon's Pay-roll !! Who pays you??Waaaahhhhhhhhh!!
lol you are so dumb. The whole left-right think is a visard. The country isnt run by dems or repubs it is run by corporations. All of you snap out of it and turn your fucking tv's off. The sane ones (independants) are the poor people who are caught in the middle of this crossfire. Death to the 2 party system...
I agree, it is the corporations running the country. I wonder when everyone else is going wake up! Both Democrats and Republicans are being paid by the corporations, although the Republicans are far worse.
yeah sure partisan and yet I basically hate the reoublican party they are moving way to far to the left and are just as much as the problem as the democrats so. Try that somewhere else
Perhaps you could post a sample of requirements we should all follow so we may pass the rainick litmus test to being a "true conservative." I can't wait until all of my views are exactly the same as yours so I can be considered one of the few "true conservatives" as well.
More or less the MADE UP QUOTES got him in trouble. The ones some stupid liberal put on a blog then the quote from the blog ended up in a book. Funny part is Noone checked their sources. Typical liberal garbage and pretty much the same thing liberals did to Palin right after she was announced. No source checking and pulled stuff from blogs.
wow Rush did NOT "voluntarily" leave TV... youre fucking looney toons.
You dont give a fuck about this country Doren and your devotion to the Republican party is obvious and oozes from your videos.
Palin and friends are about to divide your party up and make it ripe for the slaughter in 2012... And youll be right there trying to help out a party that wont have a future for another 20+ years.
And the crap that MediaMatters puts out doesn't "ooze" Libtard talking points......get real numbnuts!
As for 2012......I'd be more concerned with 2010 if I were you. And when that's over, and you Dems are standing around with your mouths open collecting flies, who will you blame then?!
Media Matters is a joke. Anyone who uses them for facts is a complete idiot. I first learned about them with the Lou Dobbs BS a little over a year ago. A MM spokesman was on claiming Lou was racist without putting into full context what Lou said then milked it down into "Lou is racist because he doesn't tell positive stories about ILLEGAL immigration. I guess the word illegal is a good now and ignoring facts about the negitives of being illegal do not matter along with worker rights.
Get a clue. I'm sure this crap plays well with the base, but you couldn't take on anyone with half a brain (even Rush), stick to what you can handle, MediaMatters is way out of your league.
I don't know who you are, but the video that was posted did an extremely poor job of doing what it said it was going to do. Frankly I love for my views (which would be moderate) to be challenged by intelligent discourse, but not by I'm going to post a video that appeals to my base. As for crying, I listen to talk radio cry every day the mainstream media doesn't give sufficient coverage to their pet rant of the day. My problem is that the Republicans by moving to the extreme are ineffective.
lol...you act like the right doesn't do the same thing. It's politics in general...they use the same tactics on both sides...truth and what's best for the country be dammed!
I wouldnt expect you to get the point the first time around. So let me break it down to you. I commented on your typical leftist tactics statement. My point was that BOTH sides use questionable tactics. Conservatives are ALWAYS up for a healthy debate. You speak for all conservatives? Oreilly and Limbaugh never debate anything. They just jump in your face & yell over whoever they disagree with to get their point. TYPICAL tactics.
Aah, well it's common knowledge left-winged nuts like this LOVES racism and LOVE racists. Its where they get their power!
This whole issue is transparent. One thing I learned about progressives is they like to accuse others of things they themselves are guilty of. It's their veiled attempt at reflecting attention.
The dumbing DOWN of the modern conservative movement . . . Buckley Goldwater Nixon's Southern Strategy Reagan (talk & DEBT) Religious right hijacks Jesus. GOP hijacks the flag. Limbaugh & Hate Radio Fox "News" Bush/Cheney Palin Plumber Birthers Beck The ABYSS - Welcome conservatives! YOU ARE HERE!
Look Lee, you're a smart enough guy to be able to tell that what Dunn said about Mao was clearly a joke. A joke in poor taste arguably, but you and several other conservatives talk about it as if it was something she really believed when it clearly was not.
No, it isn't obvious, and she wasn't joking. The public perception of these people are very different and she simply recognized that fact. Hence the laugh from the audience. That is irrelevant to her saying that he was her favorite political philosopher, as other liberals have done in the past. Why do you think this is so absurd? Liberal women admire a woman that wanted to rid society of certain races. So why not Mao, too?
She's the second person in his administration to reference Mao in such a way. But I guess that person was joking as well. And the Democrats in the black caucus that were fawning over a dictator - they were joking, too. There sure are a lot of jokesters in this administration.
She got that quote from Lee Atwater, and John McCain has quoted Mao as well. Quoting Mao is not the same as admiring Mao, especially if you are doing so sarcastically as Dunn was.
Stop repeating that BS. You got that from her. So far, no one has been able to prove that Lee Atwater ever made that "joke." If he said it, then prove it.
And she didn't just quote him. She called him her favorite political philosopher.
Yes, I sincerely believes she admires Mao. Liberals admiring other radical leftist revolutionaries. How absurd.
And I take it you could not verify the supposed Lee Atwater quote? The fact that you guys will believe something without checking it out for yourself is absolutely disgusting. This is very reminiscent of those alleged Rush Limbaugh quotes.
You were right about the Atwater quote. I was remiss in not looking into that myself first.
Nevertheless, I think it's about as likely that any Democrat holding high office is an admirer of left wing dictatorships as it is that any Republican in high office is admirer of any right wing dictator.
Oh, she just made up a quote and you dismiss her being a propagandist for the socialist cause of Chairman Mao anyway. Even after she said that Mao was one of her favorite philosophers. Talk about blind.
Fine, let's ignore reality and say that they don't. Why, then, do so many people in Obama's administration reference dictators and radicals in a positive manner? Mark Lloyd spoke of Che and Fidel as if what happened in their countries was a good thing. Which reminds me of the photos showing pictures of Che in Obama campaign offices.
The guy (don't know his position) that called the free market nonsense talked about how he agreed with Mao's "at the barrel of a gun" point. I mean, is it really a secret that liberals admire Mao, Fidel, Chavez, Che, etc?
I have a confession. I only watch this show because his non-sensical arguments make me feel smarter. With a little therapy and work on my self-esteem, I don't think I'll need to watch this much longer.
you 're only on youtube to spread conservative propaganda! And thats fine, but seriously stop telling ppl that you're informing them on whats "really" going on in our political system cuz it's BS

1. How does one talk like a socialist may I ask?
Many started to question her intellect, including Katie Couric herself.
swimmerdude117 2 years ago
7. Oh, okay. Just wondering, what's a good example of "dinosaur media?" Please be able to name a newspaper unlike Sarah Palin...
swimmerdude117 2 years ago
7. What the fuck are dinosaur rags?

5. Now youre catching on.
6. This was in response to a ridiculous statement you made about Fox. All while the other networks are untouched.
7. Dinosaur media, old newspapers that promote leftwing bias. Old, outdated soon to be bankrupt due to loss of viewership.

You cannot compare a gaff with repeated nonsense. Even with this new healthcare bill, which basically gives 30 million people to the insurance industries, Michelle Bachmann still claims that Obama is "nationalizing" insurance and that this bill is "government takeover."
swimmerdude117 1 year ago
ok, whatever you say a gaffe, I can't get a grasp on the talking points of the president how can you insure 30 million more people and lower costs and give better care? seems to me that it will increase costs and ration care anyone with a common knowledge of simple 4th grade math can see that, but I digress.. if it's not nationalizing then why a 2700 page bill ? this bill is to get the foot in the door and trust me they will get there eventually thats why they call themselves progressives.
nockuout1 1 year ago
Look, I'm no healthcare expert my an stretch of the imagination, but the Congressional Budget Office said 2 days ago that this exact bill will reduce the deficit by $138 billion. Sounds good right? And as for the size of the bill, the number of pages doesn't determine whether it's nationalized or not. Because there's no public option, healthcare isn't being nationalized. And just wondering, what do you mean by "foot in the door"?
swimmerdude117 1 year ago
@swimmerdude117 what I mean by "foot in the door:" is just that.. pelosi and her crew will not by any means stop with this bill, once passed then they will keep on tweeking it until there is no such thing as health insurance companies.. they will be phased out and then you will have no chioce but to make a public option.. it's nationalized already, trust me.. if they can force EVERYONE to buy health ins. then it's unconstitutional and nationalized.. whatever, you have your opinion I have mine..
nockuout1 1 year ago
@nockuout1
Don't worry, this bill is Constitutional and will save us money.
swimmerdude117 1 year ago
@swimmerdude117 Now that' we're three ish months down the road, how much money is this bill going to save now? And no, forcing people to purchase health insurance isn't anywhere in the constitution.

I do not disagree with you. It definitely could have been overlooked by some in attendance. However, the point being made was not with the appropriateness of her joke, but rather the truthfullness of a video that attempts to depict Dunn's comment as true belief, when it cleary was not.

Sorry, dr71956, but when you act like a child, then I am going to call you a child. You may make all the assertions you want, but you know as well as I do that you have no rational basis - that is why you must talk about "you and people like you" though you clearly have no idea who I am to begin with.
Anyway, I will now leave you to your willful ignorance, and perhaps I can find somebody who is willing to have a rational conversation because you are clearly incapable of this feat.
antybu86 2 years ago
Did I not just defend Bush? So, I think your hypothesis fails.
Listen, I understand it's easier for you to wrap your head around a discussion when you can fit people into categories (liberal vs conservative, in this case), but that's not how the world works - and I don't fit into the category which you want to shove me into.
If you're going to continue acting like a child, then I see no reason to continue this discussion. So, I ask you, are you capable of having an adult conversation?
antybu86 2 years ago 2
dr71956, please refrain from making assumptions about my political stance. In fact, there are plenty of things I would openly criticize Obama for, and I do not appreciate your attempt to place me into a category.
Secondly,"you fight your war, I'll fight mine" is a good quote. Why does it matter who it came from? She was speaking to a room of 18-year-old. I see no need to hide them from the world, as you seem to suggest.
antybu86 2 years ago
She quoted Mao? Wow, that must mean she's a communist. It couldn't just be that Mao had some good quotes. I mean, that's why John McCain and Newt Gingrich have quoted Mao in the past - because they're communists!
/sarcasm
Seriously, just because Mao was a really bad guy doesn't mean that everything he said is completely devoid of useful content.
Hell, Metropolis was rumored to be one of Hitler's favorite moves, and you know what? I like that movie too. What does it matter?

ConservativeResponse 2 years ago
He's less comfortable on camera? Do you mean he doesn't like it at all? Enough to stop entirely?
If he's so uncomfortable, why does he seem to like to show up on FOX news regularly?
underpantssquirrel 2 years ago
Ever notice the interviews are always done in his home?
ConservativeResponse 2 years ago
If he's afraid to be on camera, it shouldn't make too much of a difference to be filmed at his house. A person's home isn't too different from a studio (if comfort is an issue). Especially since he has a lot of friends at FOX. This is especially true since their commentators almost always agree with Rush and never ask him any difficult questions.
underpantssquirrel 2 years ago
lol.. ok ups... I got you. When has Rush ever backed down from any questions?
ConservativeResponse 2 years ago
Yeah, that would be an ironic pairing.
Here's a real example: When Bush said something along the lines of, "if this was a dictatorship, it would be a lot easier - as long as I was the dictator," he was clearly being facetious. People on the left, however, tried to paint it as a serious statement.
Same thing is happening with Dunn's comment. She was clearly being facetious, but Beck and co. are trying to distort the intention of the statement to push a political agenda.
antybu86 2 years ago
I find your arguement with dr interesting. I also find Anita Dunn's attacks on Fox News equally interesting. I disagree that her comment was made in gest for 2 reasons. #1, the laughs didn't come until she made the "two not often paired together" comment. And after delivering the punchline, she went on to say "but the two people, I turn to the most..."
Jokes end with punchlines.... she wasn't joking.
ConservativeResponse 2 years ago
Yeah, Beck and Co. keep cutting the quote off at "the two people I turn to most . . ." (making it sound as though she turns to them most in general), when in reality she said, "the two people I turn to most in order to deliver a simple point."
I could just as easily say, "Hitler is the guy I turn to most to point out that mustaches are stupid" or "Bush is the person I turn to most in order to show that you don't need straight As to be president," and you could similarly mine the quote.
antybu86 2 years ago
I heard the entire speech. It's just my opinion. I wasn't trying to sway your opinion. Quite frankly, I wouldn't use Hitler to make a point, but again, that's just me.
ConservativeResponse 2 years ago
Yes, and then she goes on to say that they are some of her favorite political philosophers.
glramer2007 2 years ago 2

joes805 2 years ago
Mao and Teresa are an ironic pairing. I don't think anybody that knows of these two people wouldn't agree with that. Dunn clearly realizes the irony in their pairing, and so did her audience - as they audibly laughed. The statement that Mao and Teresa were her two favorite political philosophers was clearly facetious.
I openly challenge anybody to argue that the pairing of the two was not meant to be ironic. I've seen it attempted, and the results are quite pathetic.
antybu86 2 years ago
Whether or not Mao was the greatest murderer the world has ever known, which sounds a lot like opinion, doesn't render his philosophies null and void.
I'm not defending Mao, or even agreeing with his contributions to human thought, I'm just pointing out that you didn't really make an argument. You associated members of the white house with murder.

realnarutoboy 2 years ago
When compared Mao to Mother Theresa, yes, she was obviously joking.
frayzerm 2 years ago
No, it isn't obvious, and she wasn't joking. The public perception of these people are very different and she simply recognized that fact. Hence the laugh from the audience. That is irrelevant to her saying that he was her favorite political philosopher, as other liberals have done in the past. Why do you think this is so absurd? Liberal women admire a woman that wanted to rid society of certain races. So why not Mao, too?
realnarutoboy 2 years ago
She's the second person in his administration to reference Mao in such a way. But I guess that person was joking as well. And the Democrats in the black caucus that were fawning over a dictator - they were joking, too. There sure are a lot of jokesters in this administration.
realnarutoboy 2 years ago 2
She got that quote from Lee Atwater, and John McCain has quoted Mao as well. Quoting Mao is not the same as admiring Mao, especially if you are doing so sarcastically as Dunn was.

And she didn't just quote him. She called him her favorite political philosopher.

Do you seriously believe that Anita Dunn was a sincere admirer of Mao Tse Tung? Come on.
