Hey I'm 15 years old and am looking into buying a jet ski. My dad has a 38 foot formula fastech high performance boat. (we live along the Hudson river) and I am looking for a jetski to follow him on. I need some reccomendations. Preferably $5000 or under. And a 2005 or newer. Thanks
@pbkid254 sea doo or yamaha? i wouldn't bother with anything else... if i were you id go for a used sea doo GTX or GTI. Im guessing you live in NY? im an hour away from albany right now and i've been looking on craigslist at some skiis. i'd recommend you do the same.

I love how people with no experience on watercraft throw in their 2 cents about this being dangerous... i've spent literally hundreds of hours on different jet-skies and this isn't really dangerous. in fact it looks pretty tame. it's all about knowing the limits of your vessel and situational awareness. good vid. and for the record i have been sailing for years and know the rules of the water, but i also love wave-runners.
Jet skiers have no clue about boating and because of that are the most dangerous things on the water. By the way, stay out of the channel!!!! you only need a foot of water.
