My Emporer is never that aggressive, he just calmly grabs his food and eats it. For an Emporer to sting like that he had to be stressed out.
Wrong, Captive breeds never reacts the same way as the wild types. Wild types are more experienced coz they have more encounters with mongooses,large rats,shrews,etc.. Wild type emperors are soo tough, that only two, or one baby instar will survive the wild. That preserves the toughest ones and the smartest ones behind. The captive ones are all raised alive, thous, living the stupid and inexperienced ones to live.
Its kind of obvious you haven't had your scorpion that long. Aggressive and defensive postures are very different and quite easy to distinguish. Aggressive posture is claws spread, high stance, tail back and arched, charging, attacking(obviously) etc. Defensive posture is blocking(palps protecting the eyes), hovering against the ground, back pedeling, etc. In 'goliath is at it again' u can clearly see defensive posture, I was too in his face with the camera and you can see the difference.
One other thing of note. I dropped the mouse and stepped back. You can clearly see goliath charging the mouse. He wasn't cornered or stressed, if he was he would have assumed defensive posture and backed off. Also, the video speed hasn't been altered, that's goliath at full force.

Killer, my advice would be not to do that. He has an extraordinarily agressive scorpion, feeding mice generally isn't recomended (more for ethics than anything else) so I'd advice you don't do it. Stick with crickets.
O_o Seems like you only feed Goliath with mice. You need to vary its diet. Its cool to see but if the scorpion is not careful or agressive enough it can get hurt by the rodent as it fights back if it gets a chance. Guess thats not a problem for Goliath tho...He gets the job done every time XD
Very nice scorpion. I have two myself. I fed a large mouse to my six inch one a short while ago. It just stung it once then held its mouth and neck and sufficated it to death. What ever works I guess.

im a spider enthusiast. i never knew a scorpion would hunt a mouse. but be careful, i know a scorpion is more armoured than a spider but arachnids blood does not clot meaning that a bite from a mouse could mean the arachnid to bleed to death. if feed my spiders mice they are mice that are already dead.

I gave a live fuzzy to my Emperor Scorpion. It just squeezed the head and started munching on it while still alive. And since she had recently had babies, she shared it with her babies.

Normally I would complain, as many people feed mice to animals that take far to long to kill them, which in my eyes is cruel.
However, in this case, it's not a deffensive kill, but a hunger kill and it does it extremley well and quickly.

Killer, my advice would be not to do that. He has an extraordinarily agressive scorpion, feeding mice generally isn't recomended (more for ethics than anything else) so I'd advice you don't do it. Stick with crickets.

O_o Seems like you only feed Goliath with mice. You need to vary its diet. Its cool to see but if the scorpion is not careful or agressive enough it can get hurt by the rodent as it fights back if it gets a chance. Guess thats not a problem for Goliath tho...He gets the job done every time XD

Very nice scorpion. I have two myself. I fed a large mouse to my six inch one a short while ago. It just stung it once then held its mouth and neck and sufficated it to death. What ever works I guess.

im a spider enthusiast. i never knew a scorpion would hunt a mouse. but be careful, i know a scorpion is more armoured than a spider but arachnids blood does not clot meaning that a bite from a mouse could mean the arachnid to bleed to death. if feed my spiders mice they are mice that are already dead.

ok, this is my pet peeve, i admit, but... if you're gonna feed the spider a mouse, pls use one of those bast**d wild mice that you catch trying to steal food and crapping all over the floor (and give it a fighting chance). don't use those cute white mice from pet stores that don't know how to defend themselves or elude-- that's totally unfair and no, it's *not* just like nature, where there's at least a prospect to fight!

catching wild mice would be too much hassle
most mice are bred to be used as food in pet stores since not all animals will take frozan and thawed food
just because pigs cows and sheep come lovingly hacked up in a tin for your cat and dog doesnt make it any less barbaric
