what % of frackwater contamination are they going to treat? the whole contaminated water table? like nukes - shouldn't they clean up current mess before doing more irreversible damage?
In the doco Gasland, one of the mining companies in the USA installed a reversed osmosis filter to compensate one resident who's well had been polluted. Trouble is one of the chemicals produced ATE the membrane in the reverse osmosis filter, so it ended up not filtering the water properly
Nice try but this is only one impact of coal seam gas mining. What about the carcinogenic chemicals that enter the water table as a result of extraction and depleted bores that shoot out pure gas to their owners. Amazing how this information has managed to stay hidden for so long and a myth built up that gas was our saviour from coal's dirty emissions.
This is preposterous. Destroying our agricultural industry for more greenhouse gas emissions. how are they going to desalinize up to 500,000ML a year from the Great Artesian Basin that is vital the running of Queensland? All the government are interested in is money to let this disaster occur.
Great water but what do they do with the reject high polluted salt water. Near the coast the reject simply gets sent back into the ocean but here what do they do with it.
