  • Simply magic

  • I never tire of hearing this big choon!

  • Pure goose bump material - BW - I salute you :)

  • Just recently rediscovered this track....Wow!! Forgot how amazing it is. Must have played it over and over again about 10 times. Trying to get my little 10 year old son into classic soul music instead of the rubbish playing on the radio these days. Miss the 80 music!!! Luther Vandross, Teena Marie, Michael Jackson etc. Happier times!!!

  • Hopp! the best of the best listen to the arrangement and the string base! Hmmmmmm looking back on my yesterday! Cant be better!

  • his voice is pure velvet.

  • top top top 80s classic dance tune this star ................10/10

tears are in my eyes .....awww the good times

  • Its crazy how Bobby Womack has his own unique touch on every generation.

His 60's stuff sounds different from his 70's work. Along w/ the 80's and 90's and he is amazing each time (i personally like the 70's albums the best).

I'm 25, and yet his music feels like it transports me to those times. He is easily one of the greatest Soul / Rock artists.

  • goose pimples all over

  • The best song of the album ! Listen to the basssss !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hidden 80's gem!!! Childhood memories!!!

this funky sound again and again!! Thank´s for posting!

  • What a great up-beat song to start the weekend ahead with :)

  • Anyone living in London who loves the old tunes in an environment that is just about the music, the dancing and the vibe should come down to Liverpool Street, every third Saturday of each month. Music that reminds you of your past and makes you feel damn good.

  • @spurs51 can you pls tell me the name of the venue,,well done on beating the arse

    keep it up you spurs...

  • @johnqpr1 Hello there. The place is right near Liverpool Street Station. Out of the main entrance and turn right past the Tesco and then two corners on your right. Called the Stonehorse, Paper Cow. 3rd Saturday of each month.

  • @spurs51 is this still going? dying to go somewhere to listen and dance my butt off to these kind of tracks

  • @spurs51 is this place still going? would love to have qa night of nostalgia dancing my butt off lol

  • This song beautiful as it is, is also sad in the message it carries. As the man pleads..do it for me..then do it for the sake of the kids..and finally just do it for us babe. But as we all know...when a partner has made the decision they want out...they want out...period! Nothing going to stop them!!!

  • if you don't like like this then soul ain't your thing, simple as that

  • where did this fool come from was listening to alex jones

  • LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!

  • This brings back some serious memories

  • @bodumeru Yep, takes me right back to a time I really don't need to go back too LOL.

  • Avent erd thiz in ages aww i so luv the lyrics :)

  • This song is a killer!!! The subtle string arrangement is off the chain!!! Childhood memories!!! :0)

  • Fantastic track.....Real Soul 4om the heart......

  • Anyone who loves this music and lives in London town needs to come down to the Soul Shack events, which are usually every 3rd Saturday of the month. Near Liverpool Street Station and just a wonderful evening. Good, good vibe, great tunes and people from back in the day, when music was just that.

  • One of my favourite Modern Soul tracks of all time. It just oozes Soul and feeling from the heart. And delivered perfectly by Bobby. I still give this a spin when I'm DJing out, and I still get goose bumps all over after all these years. Happy days ;-)

I've had the pleasure of seeing him live a few times, and he still delivers on stage. A natural entertainer through and through, with a voice to die for. Nobody screeches with Soul like Bobby Womack period.

  • THIS is one of the best songs to dance to in the past...... i grew upon this soulful music..... BOBBY had the JAM back then.. AND IT still sounds good

  • good music i agree

  • no I'm going to forget about you

  • How the damn did I miss this one!!!

    Very ashamed of myself!!!

  • "Absolutely" its got the lot in this track.

He's one of the greats. Must see him live!!!

  • wonderful song...makes me smile every time

  • STYLO!

  • Poet 2 has to be one of the greatest soul albums ever. So many strong tracks.

With Patti L guesting its an absolute classic.

    Those were the days !

  • Gran tema. Bobby, ¡que aprendan los nuevos!.

Siempre ha sido uno de mis temas favoritos de Womack.

Thanks so much and Happy Christmas from Spain!!!

  • quality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What a track and what an album. Fantastic! Lucky enough to have seen him live a couple of times and he was awesome.

  • love him love love him x he can do it live too. Bobby is a vocal genius a proper soul singer

  • Oh my God this is what you call real groove-it's totally timeless, beautiful music!!!!!!!

  • One Fab Tune!!...thanks...xx

  • Knew a guy named Randy who lived in Brockley, South-East London and looked a lot like Womack. Well, that's the closest I'll get to this one-off genius.

  • Hi....I was born and raised in Brockley...and i know exactly who you talking about.....small world.

  • Great Tune!!....thanks...x

  • Great Tune!!...thanks...x

  • Brilliant tune.....right up near the top of the tree

  • Love this v much :)

  • Reminds me of "Standing on the Top" by slick Rick.

  • Monster Hit from The Poet II.. My favourite B.Womack song the pain he`s feeling through `loves labours lost` constantly comes out in his `sad soul tunes`! The man lives it then puts pen to paper; coupled with that gravelly soulful voice, he`s the complete Poet! ..`Some more jealous love keeps us fighting all the time` ..The Last Truly Great Soul Singer !!

  • If it moves - FUNK IT!! - What a tune!!!!!!!

  • Absoluuuutley FABULOUS..

  • There is no one Greater who is living today. Simple as that.

  • Killer tune from "Poet II". THIS is the definition of a soul singer.

  • Superb piece of 'FUNK',first heard Tony Blackburn play this on Radio London in the days when you could still hear classic 'SOUL & DISCO stuff not all this lousy hip-hop and (c)rap.............

  • so true, this track is so represetitive of what was going on at the time. tony blackburn's midmorning show at the time was so superb, 10 am just after robbie vincent's phone in. soul today is absolute shite, we need more of the 80's style. great posting about a great track.

  • me to used to listen to tony back then

loved this album.did bobby sing a song called im trying to get over you cant find it on utube

  • Tina would help if you had the album name as bobby has put out loads of albums and would narrow my search for the track your looking for.........

  • might have been the poet album cheers

for that but not sure x

  • from the poet 2

  • @funkytina1 I'm gonna forget about you.

  • @funkytina1 its on poet 1 or poet 2

  • @funkytina1 ...... YES HE DID IT CALLED I'M THROUGH TRYING TO PROVE MY LOVE TO YOU.... ITS ON HERE

  • Of course he did!!! Because although so many prats hated him at the time (remember?) he was a FAB D.J. and had terrific taste!!..He played so much great stuff that didn't get a listen elsewhere..

  • Love his vocals and the bass on the opening

  • once again top tune !!

  • I don't know why U.S. radio didn't embrace this. Shout out to my folks in England, heard this song went #60 over there in '84! :)

  • Yes timmy841212 - but how many OTHER Bobby Womack sides ever made the UK charts?? haha!
