@eloid777 i guess you could get something for it to run through to cool it and connect it to an air compressor to push it into a container, you would have to make sure that its not the type that can cause sparks.. cos it might go bad real quick
Nice set up! Can you get the fan at radio shack? The solar AA chargers are cool too, nice and compact. I'll have to look for those. The charcoal can be used to restart the stove. It makes good fuel. Thanx!
Sorry man you are just increasing combustion due to an increase in air flow similar to how a blast furnace works. You are not generating wood gas and then reburning that gas to heat your water. You are doing one step similar to a campfire only slightly more efficient. This is a hobo stove at best
WTF are you talking about? What water? You keep posting the same crap on every video about home made stoves. None of your comments seem to have any understanding of whats happening in these videos.
you might consider using a "rocket stove" for your heat source. A rocket stove is easy to make, burns very hot, uses fuel very efficiently and would not need the fan. for example see youtube video "rocket stove" wRbr3KsEjeE
@teb0atoz The rocket stoves I make are very simple and I have used them to smelt metal without a fan using only a few small sticks as fuel. Originally I made mine using sheet metal but it kept melting under the intensity of the heat.
It's more than just a glorified fire place as the fire places I have seen use large amounts of wood and produce a lot of smoke and particulate matter. I can stand directly over a rocket stove and not choke on the smoke because it burns more efficiently and cleanly.
the top can is technically a wood distiller, as you're just burning off the volatile chemicals, rather than producing biogas itself. That's why charcoal is left over.
The forge on the bottom is running off of woodgas, though!
You really need to show the inner workings

If you don't think this is awesome, you need awesome lessons!

can u some how collect the gas instead of burning it as stove, like to collect the gas
use it at a later time?

i still dont know how u get gas off wood as ive heard of it before
biguglygadgie 1 year ago
it's beautiful
but is this for generating heat, or just a demonstration of how wood gas is generated?
because if it's for heat we could use the first source of heat from the stove below

what is the purpose of this set up. why make wood gas? I'm confused.

does wood gas come from just wood?

@penguinistas Way to complicated and from when I have seen the rocket stoves used it is just a glorified fire place.
Cheers

Thanks. The thermometer reads up to 518 degrees.

Sounds like a system that is sustainable in an emergency. Good video thank you for producing it.
