The satallites that google gets its images from don't fly directly over the south pole. The images of the poles are taken from an angle and therefore have to be reshaped to fit onto a global projection. This results in a black spot on the south pole. You idiot.

Google Earth does not take pictures over water in high definition, unless its close to land..That's why the arctic looks ice-free, but I can assure you it's not ice free having just visited friends in the arctic in Griese Fiord, on Ellsmere Island.

Only the geostationary are on the equatorial orbit at 36000 km from the earth that's the only height that let the satellite rotate at the same speed of the earth. There are many other orbits, polar and with various inclinations. All of them work but are not good for communications. GPS, communication satellite are geostationary, all the other move around to cover the maximum area and scan all the earth surface.

Google Earth does not take pictures over water in high definition, unless its close to land..That's why the arctic looks ice-free, but I can assure you it's not ice free having just visited friends in the arctic in Griese Fiord, on Ellsmere Island.

The "abyss" This is what hapens when you make a sphere out of square pictures. Note how at the North pole the same thing takes place over water. The pics are cropped into trapazoids and narrowed down to triangles.
I think 9/11 was an inside job, but there is a point at which claims become so outlandish and unfounded because people use their wild imaginations to fill in the blanks and skew the story with personal bias so much that it becomes untrue and laughable.

that's not even close to true, google orbits.
it looks bad because the sats take pics in strips, non-populated areas are low-res in google earth and they use a polar coordinate system which "pinches" images the closer they are to the poles.

obviously you're confused. most man-made satellites are geocentric. all geocentric satellites orbit around the centre of the earth which is a point, not the equator which is a circular path in a specific plane. please try to comprehend the difference.
and yes you can take pictures of the poles precisely from satellites that run in "polar orbits" google it.

Only the geostationary are on the equatorial orbit at 36000 km from the earth that's the only height that let the satellite rotate at the same speed of the earth. There are many other orbits, polar and with various inclinations. All of them work but are not good for communications. GPS, communication satellite are geostationary, all the other move around to cover the maximum area and scan all the earth surface.
